    Default Star Wars sound issue

Well, I'm gonna turn to the knowledge of the forum here to see if anyone can help with this.

TurboV6 purchased my Star Wars (and Star Blazers cell to match).

I'm quite sure it was working, since I gave it a thorough testing before the wrap.
When Turbo got it, it had no sound.

We've found one after-market volume control to be glitchy (potentiometer), and that relieved the sound for one speaker. (Jump in and correct me if I'm getting any of this wrong, Turbo)

The other speaker, though, is still dead.
He tried shorting the terminals on that potentiometer (so it should play full volume), but still... no sound for that speaker.

Turbo tells me that he has checked all connections, and swapped the speaker connectors which shows the speaker is indeed good.

    Any other thoughts?
I'd hate to have to do a call tag for this, but will if necessary.
    I will make it right.

But maybe someone with a lumina case (Star Wars) may be able to trace and double check with things?

    Thanks.

I would unplug ALL the connectors from the sound board and then plug them all back in. I have done this with computers and half the time it solves the problem. I know one would normally say "look it's plugged in." But unplugging and replugging is a thing to try.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

That would be my first step as well. If that didn't work, then try doing the same to the connectors on the cell interconnect board (as the sound is routed through this board).

If the cell has been swapped, then it's possible that one of the two pink connectors leading from the cell interconnect board to the lights and speakers in the front framework may be loose.

If he tries reconnecting these and the sound problem is not fixed then try swapping to the Starblazers cell, and see if the problem is still there. Which would isolate the problem to either the frame, or the Star Wars cell.

Let us know how you get on and if it's not fixed then I'm sure we can come up with some more suggestions.

Thank you all for the helpful hints and to Logicprobe for being right on top of the issue.
I removed the jackpot tray and could see that the connector on the back of the cell was dislodged. I did the first few steps of replacing the cell and that allowed me to access the connector easily. I powered backup and adjusted the pots to get full stereo sound. I knew it had to be a minor issue so a little patience and all is well.
Gotta love the support from this forum!!
