Default SHENGHUNG aka IMATRIX review coming

Well I broke down and ordered the STAR WARS pachinko.

This is my first pachinko I will be comparing the condition against a New Terminator pachisloI recieved from Stealthhomeamusment which was in excellent condition.

David has advertised that they clean the Pachinko's from top to bottom with thier expert staff. If you tell me what to look out for I will post a most honest estimate of the condition and dealer also known as IMATRIX. Already he has been a stand up guy by marking the customs value low I don't think I will be paying customs I will keep all informed. It should be here in about 2-3 days.

I'm interested in how his machines stand up against others...i.e. the legendary Arby machines. All the machines I've bought so far are all from iMatrix. I'm satisfied with the conditions on all of them...but I have nothing to compare them against.

The only thing that will stand up to an Arby machine is another Arby machine.

You asked, what I do to them.

    Machine:
Clean the inside and out side of the machine.
Polish and buff the front of the machine.
Take apart the reflectors and lens, clean them so the lights are brighter.
Clean all the ball ways of the smoke tar that is on the inside of even the cleanest frame.
Polish the cell with "Cell polish from Japan and designed for it".
Check all connector and mating parts for alinement and seating.
    Add volume controls as needed.
On loose glass machines add "two" new Plexiglas windows (the game looks, sounds and plays better).
Replace the lock with one that is key matched, so it is easy to open the cell window and open machine from frame.
Check the speakers for any damage, replace as needed.
Check all boards on back to see that they are locked in place.
Add as needed a CR By-Pass connector (dongle).

    Frame:
Rebuild the frame replace the nails with drywall screws and grommet washers, also gluing and squaring as needed.
Mount play platform made from 1 by 4 inch number #1 pine boards, recess the screws to protect where machine is set.
Mount a 6 AMP Transformer with Auto-reset able thermal cutout, made by Power Volt, Inc., an USA made designed to run 27/7.
Add a three prong plug with ground and wire it up to transformer than machine, connect the ground system so it works.

Do a 10 hour run time to check all boards, transformer, ball configuration, lights and sound.
Just before wrapping for shipping, re-polish full front than bag and wrap.

These are in prime condition and N. O. S. Includes: Casino ball tray, Factory Key & lock, English manual on CD, and Balls depending on machine style.

And I thought my addiction was to Pachis but it is really to the Arby treatment. You haven't lived til you've had your machine prepared by the pro.

Well, I would die to try an Arby Machine with all his reputation...but just a problem...I would avoid US seller if I could. I still remember my very 1st machine...a Pachislo 3 years ago from a US ebayer...the result...over $100 US to ship...and on top of that another $100+ for duty. My 2nd machine didn't come until I found out about Canada Slot a long time after and now iMatrix. No shipping & no duty for local pickup.

I've yet to visit Superpachinko...the website's just not working and I don't know if he's got a store or not.

BTW, does Arby got a webpage? All I can see is a tattoo store URL in his profile...and I'm currently not in the market to get more ink on my body

Holy crap....that's the first time I've seen the Arby prep list.
It sounds to me like these are essentially better than new.

Unless of course you get a machine from him like I did with my Star Wars which was new.

I just read Arby’s prep list. He takes just as many steps, if not more to clean up a modern machine as it does for me to refurbish a vintage unit. My hats off too you.

Ok I received my Star Wars Pachinko Exactly 4 days after if was shipped which has to be a record. As the correspondence with Imartrix it was good, they included the tracking number and everything any customer would want.

    First Impression:
The nice shipping folks placed it on its side, punched a hole in the box and crushed one corner.
Luckily the wood frame and bubble wrap protected the machine from any excessive damage.

Upon moving the box I noted the faint sound of pachinko balls rolling around in the box and thought AUGHT OH. However once unpacked it was only 4 of the 800 pachinko balls that escaped their box. Probably from obviously rough shipping.

Once I opened I could see it a tightly wrapped Star Wars Pachinko the machine. Oh the joy of being 10 on Christmas day.

The pachinko itself was encapsulated in multiple layers of bubble wrap protecting it for its journey and it did protect about 98% of it. I wouldn't rate the shipping as good as Milts (stealthhomeamusements.com) as he has a unique box design that obviously has come from years of experience shipping pachi's. But overall it's probably the same way I would pack one if I needed to ship something this heavy and large. So if Milt's boxing method is 10 out of 10 then Imartirx rates a 8 out of 10.

Once I removed the mummified pachi I began my first overall run. Exciting and nervous explains it. The transformer broke free and did a bit of damage that had me in shock and awe. The shipping company jarred or dropped this so hard that 4 screws couldn't hold it to the frame. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised as the Titanic sunk and we all know how well that was built. The damage was all the mounting plastic that housed the shooter circiut board. We can get back to this in the summary.

Since Arby posted his todo list, I will use that as a guidline.

    1. Clean the inside and outside of the machine - OK someone definitely Windexed the outside but all in all the ball ways were pretty dirty with nicotine and dust.
    2. Polish and buff the front of the machine - Nope
    3. Take apart the reflectors and lens, clean them so the lights are brighter - Nope
    4. Clean all the Ball ways - see number 1 - Nope
    5. Polish Cell - I cant tell the cell is in excellent condition
    6. Connector Mating - OK
    7. Volume Control - No I put my own in before I needed a hearing aid
    8. Glass was tight
    9. Key and Lock look original
    10. Speakers are solid and loud
    11. Boards - OK with the exception of the shooter board that was damaged by the transformer
    12. CR By-Pass - Installed
    13. Frame rebuilt - NO I think I might need to follow Arby's rebuilt process as the frame seems weaker than I thought it should be.
    14. Mount Play Platform - I don't think I would know what this was if I did see it.
    15. Transformer - Yes Auto-Reset - No
    16. Three Prong Plug - A-OK

Summary- I paid 259.00 plus the 89.00 S/H. After David (IMATRIX) and I emailed about the broken plastic he credited me 30.00 for the trouble of having to hot glue the plastic case together. I found one other broken piece and that's the speed lock on the shooter handle. It doesn't lock? And I may attempt a repair on it someday but for today I can live with it.

All in all it's a awesome machine, Imatrix is OK they don't Arby-tize the pachi's or pack as well as Milt but they didn't shaft me either. It's the same old story you get what you pay for, and now I will be cleaning my own Star Wars Pachi.

    Overall Rating:

    8.5 out of 10

I curious - did you end up paying import fees on this purchase?
Has anyone else dealt lately with this dealer ?
