as much as id love to help with this mod i don't recommend it unless your planning on bolting the machine down . a locked arm at that angle will topple the machine if a child persists in pulling it so if your not going to bolt it don't use the lock selinoid......

Good point, Since I am a child. maybe I can break a toe on my other foot to even out my limp.
Joking Good safety tips the angle it locks at is near vertical I would be more worried of it sticking in the lower position, this produces a significant angle of momentum, this would be capable of upsetting the machine with a 50 lb child applied to the end.
I have to do a thourough clean and oil of the mech. as it is a bit sticky and the ratchet pawl has stuck the arm in the down position a few times already. It seems like it is gummed up with old grease. This was a used arm, very filthy.does anyone know where were these originally used? what type of machine.

like everything else there only as good as their maintained and that machine was probably in a warehouse for the last 10 yrs pachislo are top heavy to begin with and a locked arm is inviting to most small children who think it'll move if i just force it ..... and over it goes machine and all ..... easier to just let them pull it down thats all they want anyway .and no harm done....... my autistic son yanks that arm as hard as he can and the machine doesnt budge an inch but if i locked the arm he'd have been wearing it many times over .

I saw the IGT Las Vegas machines these are originally installed on I could not get the store owner to sell me any at a good price.
