Default Ultraman Club arriving next week

Just ordered an Ultraman Club from Gaku to arrive next week. I grew up watching Ultraman - i haven't seen any video of this one in action and wondering if anyone can provide some info. on this machine (e.g. how it plays, etc.) When i get it, i'll be sure to put up my review!

    Hi All,

I drove a total of 400 miles roundtrip this weekend to pick up the Ultraman Club and three other machines I had previously ordered. I only had about 4 hours of sleep before waking up at 6:15am on a Saturday morning to go up - and I was not tired at all because I was so psyched to be picking these babies up!

First off, of the 4 machines i picked up, Fed Ex did me bad on the one I was most eager to get - Ultraman. Gaku did a marvelous job of double boxing the machines - it was Fedex who probably threw the box around and cause the damage to the reels. When I opened the door, the reel was completely separated from the base - it had SNAPPED OFF as the screw and a small bit of plastic was still secured. The next thing i noticed was that the reel on the left and the reel on the right was crinkled on one section of the reel - as if it has bumped violently against the case (because it was separated) and smashed into the door. The damage to the reel is very notificable - not only crinkled and bent, but the paint came off as well.

I tried to smooth the reels out as best i can, seated the reel back in its place. I fired it up and was immediately greeted by a 18 inch colorful display - although i was pissed, this got me real excited. I put in some tokens and got the reels spinning, but it's making a horrible "clicking noise".

I will contact Gaku in the morning to let him know of the damage. I'm hoping he can do something about this although i know it's Fed-Ex who is "truly" responsible for this outcome.

I will be posting pictures of all my machines including Ultraman in the next day or two. There's a lot of japanese text on the screen and i don't know yet what the heck I'm doing (especially the battle scenes), but the graphics are too cool!

Oh yea, the other machines appear to been in great condition! King Camel, Sinbad Aventure (with the alternate anime belly graphics - no Sinbad girl, yay!!!, and Monkey Crab.

Gaku has been nothing but EXTRAORDINARY during my entire dealing with him for the 4 pachislos ordered. He has been extremely patient, answered all my questions timely, and even allowed me to switch machines back and forth (without getting upset at our wish-washiness). I'm confident he'll take care of my problem.

In the meantime, although the reel is grinding and there are rips on the reels, i managed to get these pics. I would like to provide a video of the machine - would like some suggestions for hosting (free???)

He most certainly will! My Super Blackjack arrived damaged, thanks to FedEx, and Gaku shipped another complete reel assembly the same day I told him about it.

I hate that it happened, because that's another machine that may not be sold.

Next trip to Galveston I'll make it a point to go by and visit him. I just hope I have some extra cash then.

I received the replacement reels from Gaku this week and replaced them last night. I am so grateful to Gaku! What fantastic service! The right and left reels arrived nicely packed in bubble wrap an in excellent condition. I’ve never done a reel replacement before and learned that the reels need to be inserted from left to right (because of the black tab on the left and middle reels that covers the gap). It was pretty easy after figuring this out – it was a matter of disconnecting the three cables, pulling loose the black top and bottom tabs (that holds the reel against the cage), and sliding out and the back in. It works great now.

After playing Ultraman Club some more, I have the following thoughts:

    Pluses:
Cool theme of Ultraman (if you like this character and it’s genre)
    Huge LCD screen
Neat graphics of Ultraman, Ultraman Seven, lots of monsters
Many “battle” scenes between Ultraman and monsters
    A “roulette” bonus game

    Minuses
Lots of japanese characters on the screen (and on the bellyglass)
LCD graphics same as Gamera High Grade which is not super high-res (machine made with same parts and case)
Gameplay seems to get a little repetitive
Could’ve benefited from more cartoon sequences
Battle scenes are difficult to win (maybe it’s just me and not knowing what to do?)

Overall, if you’re a fan of Ultraman, this is a collectible item that you must get. The SD versions of the ultraman are cool. I have a Speed Racer, Monkey vs. Crab, and Sinbad Adventure. I can’t rank these machines because they are so different – they each have their own nuances and features that make each special. But if you were to strand me on an island and made me choose two, I’d probably choose Sinbad Adventure and Speed Racer. That’s not to say I don’t like Ultraman Club – I do and have no regrets.

I’ll try to shoot video sequences of Ultraman in the next week and post the links.

I really like my Ultraman. I have it sitting next to my Gamera for the Japanese monster movie section of my "casino". The monster fights are great and Ultraman's flying kick move is the best. But I agree with you that it is not the one I would choose if I could have only one - I like the nostalgia of the pair.

Default Well, i was about to make a video, but found this...

Maybe this is well known or something, but appears to have come from someone from this board - a promo video of the Ultraman pachislo that pretty much shows all the different screens and playing scenarios.
