    Default What is a cell?

I have a newbie question. I have seen it mentioned several times on the site and was curious as to what a cell is. Is it the playing field background only? Thanks in advance.

ok there are difrent parts that make up a pachinko machine there is the frame that holds the hole thing in when you buy just a frame you get the plastic suround attached to the wooden frame work with hinges on the back you get the payout mec and the power suplie thats about it

the cell is the game itsellf ie the screen the puter that drives it all the wooden bord the prity background is put on with the nails in ect so if you have a frame you can change the cell out like a games cartridgre but sertain cells only fit sertain frames like the sankio lumina frame (the one starwars is in ) will take indy cell, Julie cell, galaxy railways cell, starblazers cell and much more a cell looks like the pic below when it is popped out usualy takes about 10 mins max to change a cell and sankyo i have found is the easyest to do as ther eis only a few plugs all marked pink

The cell is the payfield and the electronics on the back that control that cell.
Here are pics of the Batman cell that I changed out on my machine.

A cell is the playing field and all the electronics, ball troughs and cables built onto it's back side. It does not include the top ball tray or the shooter assembly.

Hey at one time I had these newbie questions too. about two weeks ago hehe But now I am a pachinko master.:chinese:
To answer your question a cell is the worlds smallest organism. You have many of them in your body....about 10 or so. My expertice of pachinko is unmatched.

    Just to clarify a copple of points regarding cells and swapping them;

One thing to keep in mind is that some cells have so much mechanics and electronics attached, that the main game ROM board is attached separately to the rear of the machine and must also be matched and changed along with the cell.

I learned the hard way that on the Heiwa ThunderZone/Batman case, the sound board is also attached separately to the rear of the machine.

A nice discussion of cells, no mention of the small windowless room with bars on it.
DR CRIP. how can a guy get a cell? I would love a garfield or woody Wood #1 to go in the frame I have. same as woody woodpecker frame.
Arby told me they are available in Japan upto 18 months after machines are relaesed, and an agent in Japan would need to send it out. So its too late for a new cell for my machine.

Question Re: What is a cell?

Maybe this is a dumb question, but why would you change a cell and what do you do with the old one ? Frank A, Jackson, NJ

if your space is limited or to save a little cash you only need one frame for a few cells, swap them back and forth, whichever one you want to play.

I can have about 5 cels shipped from Japan (slo-boat) for the price of a single machine EMS (only way to ship a whole machine to the US).
As long as I have a frame they'll fit, I then have 5 different games.
Stuck with a Blast Running Route 241 cell (Truck theme, good price) till I can get a 2005+ Nishijin game/case. Trying to make it this one.
