I just moved over to the Dark Side

After buying nothing but pachislos for 2 years, I finally decided to give pachinkos a try. My 4 initial pachinkos arrived today - Star Wars, Top Gun, Rocky, and E.T. I think I'm going to like these machines....although the E.T. is a bit darker than I expected. Does anyone know if the yellow lights near the top of E.T. ever come on during the attract mode or game play? I've had that machine plugged in for several hours without playing it and have never seen those lights come on. Maybe they need a new bulb??

If I ever buy any more pachinkos, some titles that I have in mind are Indiana Jones, Spiderman, Julie Pinball, Jurassic Park, and Lord of the Rings. Are there any other titles that I should consider or are any of the 5 I just mentioned in the same class as Star Wars and Rocky?

Wow, You are starting with some FINE machines! Just start playing them and you will see all of the lights, all of the sounds, all of the thrill of PACHINKO!

The new machines are great but don't overlook some older ones - Apollo 13 is by far my favorite machine along with some of the other Maturi models.

One of those on your list is most deff in the same class (my Opinion) as Star Wars and that is Julie The Pinball - just one word - 'Fantastic!'

As for now - I would concentrate on enjoying the Machines you have just purchased - learn all about them - tease them to Fever - before making them jealous!!

Someday... soon you will be walking along minding your own business and you'll hear a weak voice "rescue me.....", you'll look around and see a poor and neglected vintage machine. Walking closer you see the poor little thing, covered with dust and dirt, filled with rusty balls leaves and debris settled in places you never thought a leaf could enter.

You examine the front, you flip the lever and hear the soothing THUNK as it hits the stopper, you turn it around and marvel at the low tech beauty. You think to yourself "I could do this, if I have any questions about how to restore this baby, somebody at pachitalk will be able to help me"

You think it over for a minute, you look around and find the seller, hesitantly you ask " how much for this game?" The seller looks at you and starts to open his mouth.....$10.00..... You are stunned, you thought he was going to ask at least $25.00 or $30.00 you fumble with your wallet and quickly hand him the $10.00 before he changes his mind...... You bend down to pick up your new baby oblivous to the dust and dirt the will cover your clothes as you hug the machine and carry it to your car.....

Then and only then will you understand the true power of the dark side

True - the call of the Dark Side is strong and as you begin to resuce the poor vintage machines and restore them their power becomes stronger. They channel their power and guide you to their less fortunate brothers and sisters, you become powerless to resist - what once you would have passed on as too damaged or too expensive you resuce and return to your workshop. Soon you strip it down and rebuild it making it better than it was restoring it to the former glory it once knew. The journey will never be complete, the voice will only get louder and come from more distant lands, you will never know why but you will soon be driving 1 or 2 states away maybe even to foreign countries seemingly for some unrelated purpose - you will be doing the tourist thing and wander into a shop or down a random street. But soon your purpose is clear - the machines you have saved and restored have directed you to this time and place to save once of their brethern....

That was well said. It's nice to see in words what I feel in my heart. Pachinko is definitely the dark side. It’s a very slippery pit that runs deep once you fall in. I started with the vintage machines and progressed to the modern so I have it really bad. May I never be rescued.
