    Assuming 12,000Y purchase price, 114Y to $:

    12,000Y purchase
    2,000y shipping in Japan
    1,400Y comm on purchase
41,010Y EMS to US (Est., only way to ship a whole machine)
    4,101Y comm on shipping
    60511Y = $530.79

All estimates. If we had SAL to the US, that shipping would be less than 1/2 what EMS is.

Hmm...not as bad as I thought it would be. Of course that doesn't include balls and cleaning etc, but that's around what the prices are for titles like Star Wars and Indy which seem to be more abundant.

Yeah, that's the downside of the equation. Depending on how new the Pachinko was, the sell price could be anywhere between $200 and over $1000 USD. Occasionally you'll find a game for a little less but these tend to have seen very hard use. Also, most games are converted for cyclic home use, and sometimes it is a hack job. Sometimes you can also get lucky. On the other side of the equation, some interesting games will never make it to this side of the pond otherwise.

Now take the $200-1000, add Agent Fees, shipping to the Agent, packing, air freight to N.A., insurance?, perhaps taxes and duty, brokerage charges, replacement of missing or broken parts, cleaning and adjustments, dongle, transformer and power cord. Then stand back and realize that you have purchased a machine that does not have any warranty. My Julie Pinball for example arrived with a bad LCD display. You become responsible for the diagnostics, replacement and repair. You can't call a domestic vendor and ask for a replacement machine or a bucket of balls.

For the relatively inexpensive price, you'd be much better off buying domesticaly. Now if you are a die hard hobbiest who's addiction demands the latest and greatest, and are crazy or insanely rich, direct import may be a viable option.

Arby's premier machines aren't cheap for example, but he is not getting rich from it either. If he were, his shop would be named "Arbuckle's Pachinkos-R-Us" and he'd Tatoo on the side.

Unless you are going to buy volume, demand the latest games, and are willing to pay the cost, you'd be better off buying from a vendor who will guarantee satisfaction and who will stand behind their product.

As a footnote to this long winded diatribe; I've purchased more than a couple of games from Japan only to see them on eBay for significantly less a month or two later. So yeah, I'm an insane die-hard who is a lot poorer than before I discovered Pachis.

If you're into pachinkos, the only advantage the UK has over the US is you can ship SAL for $200-$225 for a full machine and $100-$125 for a cell. When a local vendor has the right machine, it's always a better deal/bet. But for me the fun of being able to shop for the latest and greatest is worth some risk...and my wife thought that when we moved to the UK she wouldn't have to deal with the monthly delivery.

We can ship a cel for around $60 by sea (45 days, I ain't in a rush anymore!), thank you Sankyo for so many games in the same frames and not changing the frames!

OH OH! You are definately going to be in for some trouble.

The date with my machine yesterday is now definately more than a one night stand as we met once again today. I've now met Rick, Johnny, Maurice (The King of Soul) and the two girls; Himiko and Anna. We listened to some music and we danced for a while. It got so hot that I had a Fever, and then followed by some more hot flashes.

During the Fever rounds the two girls take turns on the dance floor and perform their gyrations, just for you. The blue chance button lights up. With every press of the button the viewpoint changes at random. The girls are closer, further away, your looking up, down, and all over. Did I say the you get close? My Oh My! There is cleavage in front ... and in back! These orientals must be very short. They cut the bottoms of the dresses while standing on tip toe, and cut the front and backs way too low.

But who cares about scantily clad women? This game is all about the music. Music and more music. It's got beat; tastfully done. Very retro yet current at the same time. It should appeal to the guys as well as the gals.

Still working on pics and video folks. Just as soon as I stop sweating. Don't want to drop the camera.

You forgot to add; ... and sells .... and sells ... and sells...

Set your nails tight to stay away from the Bonus rounds and you should be OK.

Gosh, now I feel guilty about these posts. Twins are bad enought but you may now be on the verge of triplets. You've got a bad case of the Fever Doc and had better stay in bed. Take two Pachi's and call your bank in the morning.
