Back to the topic .... any button could be causing this problem be it any of the bet buttons or the stop buttons and of course a spin knob thats stuck in the down position or just cant get back up again ...... unplug the machine and try a paper towel with windex on it and push in each button and try to wipe down the inside ring of the button where the button rubs the side of the housing make sure the towel is saturated pretty good when you do it .repeat that for each button including the 1,2 and maxbet buttons .also try to do the same with the spin knob but most have to be taken apart to be cleaned and lubed .the fact that you can set the odds is encouraging that it might not be the spin knob as for the 1 and 2 not being the same height that would be my first switch to clean I have never seen a 1 lower than its #2 it should be identical but are usually smaller than the Maxbet button .plug in the machine and try it again.Good luck let me know how you make out with it

if its just a micro switch yes if its a optical switch posibbly no you might get an error .... some like the elco have a cluster button (1,2,max bet are all in one housing with one plug ) better off trying to clean it first and pull it up .
as for your boating in ky that must be one big tub of ky and what ever floats your boat works for me......
