    Default Blessed

I wish to say this, for Pachitalk is like an extended family for me. Someone I care about vary much has passed and is now in heaven. I would like to give an idea of how I came to know this person and how much she meant to me.
Not everyone gets to say they are blessed with having two moms and two dads. For me I was lucky as a child. My dad Gil, married my mom Lee and accepted the responsibilities of my brother, sisters and myself. He did not have to do this for we were not his children. That did not matter! Not once did I hear or see anything that could be otherwise. On the contrary, the love he had and showed us always shown clear. His ability to give and share his love extended to being a dad for another family who needed what he gave so freely. For this I was taught what a dad truly is and means to me. To be a dad a child does not need to be yours, only someone you can share your love and caring for and with.
My parents always seamed to surround themselves with other people of good character, and who wished the best for others. Two of these people were Bev and Wilmer. In them I have grown to see the same beliefs as my parents. As a child I spent almost as much time at there house as I did my own. In time home could mean ether house. With the love shown to me by Bev and Wilmer along with the example Gil had set forth for me, believe I have been blessed with another mom and dad. Just like a mom Bev always tried to teach me what she could, especially about caring and treating others with kindness and respect. When you had a problem or needed advice she always helped, but without actually giving you the easy answer. She gave you what you needed to make the right choice on your own if you listened. Not that I always did and found out what is meant by a life lessen. Always reinforcing the teachings of others and adding to them whenever she could. she has always been a part of my well being and my belief in the goodness of others. My parents taught me through example some vary important things. One of the most important is surrounding yourself and in turn surrounding the ones you love with good people.
Having a number of medical problems in the past years mainly consisting of strokes, diabetes, and some heart problems they came together in the last few weeks to cause Bev to be hospitalized. With the stress of procedures and her medical conditions working against each other she passed away Thursday morning. Services were this evening. Bev and all that she was will be greatly missed! I will think of Bev often and wish she was still here with us but will know in my heart that heaven is a better place for her. Laz.

Thank you, although I would not consider it well written. Writing is not one of my best things. As I sit here thinking the thing that comes to mind is the world just got a lot smaller for me.

I know Tulsa. I try to do so. I keep thinking that my children are so young they will have to depend on others to know who they were.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, Laz.
    I feel your pain.

She gave you a wonderful gift that you might think you can never repay... but you can, and you are... by setting that same example for others, and sharing her values.

May God bless you and your family in this time of mourning.

You said it wonderfully, Laz. People like Bev are too far and few nowadays.

Fortunately, you can pass her gift along to others, as I hope most of us here try to do. To have known her is wonderful for you.

Try to celebrate her life. She will live forever.

I welcome your sentiments,John, Sid,Tony, and hanabi. If I don't know your real first name I apologize. If members may not know or realize is that Wilmer, Bev's husband is the subject of this thread started a while ago. Wilmer is a strong man and did much better than we expected after what happened. With Bev passing I hope to that he does OK. This is my dark side but not one of his siblings showed up at the services. They ether knew they would not be welcome, and believe me they would have had quiet a number of people to show them to the door. Or well just did not care. Best they were not there. http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6948

That was wonderful ! I thank you for that, TeeDubya. That helps a lot. I will show a copy to others.

I was sitting here wishing that I had something to say, other than offering my most heartfelt condolences (and I sincerely do). Then I remembered this:

"I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the
morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until at length she hangs
like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and
sky come to mingle with each other.

Then someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"

    "Gone where?"

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as
large in mast and hull and spar as she was when
she left my side and she is just as able to bear her
load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just
at the monent when someone at my side says:
    "There, she is gone!"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and
other voices ready to take up the glad shout"
    "Here she comes!"

    And that is dying."

There are few finer tributes. As long as you channel your memories into love for others, she will be proud of you.

    My condolences.

Thanks, ocpachinko. I was just having to read over a cancer insurance policy and feeling a bit bad at having it hit so close to home. I did not want to go to bed on such a note so I decided to see if things were back up and running here. The part off my post you selected to quote helped me get in a better mood.
