Default Star Trek vs Star Wars?

There is not much new information out there yet on the new Taiyo CR Star Trek games outside of their official approval. I did find some pictures of the new pamphlet though and linked them below.

P-World has the models and the specs set out, but not much else yet.
    http://www.p-world.co.jp/_machine/ki...u=p4379&type=1

Now this pending and potentially delicate situation got me to thinking. Star Trek is huge! As is Star Wars! So ... is Star Trek going to have the same sales impact next X-mas that Star Wars had? Will it be the next "incredibly rare", most desired, and must have Pachinko game? Will there be a heated battle over the Red or the White case? Or will it be the next Lord of the Rings? High profile, pretty but bland? Will there be a flood of cheap Star Wars because everyone will be waiting to buy the Star Trek? Since there is not much information out there to form an opinion yet, I thought I'd still get the ball rolling. (Pun intended)

So without further delay, some prevues for your watching pleasure. Grab the Hoff, some popcorn and a comfy couch.

    Fascinating!

Thanks for the scoop. It's on the want list for me.

Although I'm a huge fan of the original series... I won't be jumping on one of the first machines to make it here.
I've learned my lesson about that.

Well I think the Wookie will be most interested in a Star Trek Pachinko,
although I doubt it will equal / surpass Star Wars!

But I will await Reviews with anticipation!!!

I know there are Star Trek conventions of course, they are legendary with their throng of fans. Are there Star Wars conventions of this same magnitude?

yes they have conventions also if not just Sifi conventions in general its just that they share the same base of people and star trek has been around a few generations longer so has alot more devoted fans and gains new ones in reruns everyday with its TV shows which are shown every second somewhere in the world ,Star wars only has its 6 movies to draw from startrek has no less than 5 TV shows and 9 movies (i lost count sort of like naming the seven dwarfs) heres a url wth a list http://members.tripod.com/~pete1701/STMOV.HTML
startrek has a much more diverse audience than star wars is and Sifi geeks got money to burn when it comes to their official merchandise .......

I sense that this thread has strangely gone quiet. It's hard to follow up a post like that.

"One week today, the ship hits the fans!"

Paramount for the 40th Anniversary of Star Trek are re-releasing the Original Series, 79 episodes for broadcast, remastered in HD, with new audio and enhanced special effects. They've just taken a page out of Disney and George Lucas' book! Wouldn't you know it, just when I've upgraded my collection from VHS to DVD, it's obsolete again. ... and I have a new Pachinko to pine for ... it just never ends ... good thing that I've been de-sensitized by the Pachi-mania experience.

The 40th Anniversary trailer is cool but I don't think you can alter the pace of the orginal series and enject any new heart-pounding action.

And for those with very deep pockets, here is the historic auction of 40 years of memorabilia, at Christies no less.

    http://www.christies.com/special_sit...k/overview.asp

Seek out new Pachi's and boldly go where no Pachi has gone before. (or something like that)
