    Default Coin feeding problem

I'm not sure what to call this part so please excuse my ignorance. I have a Thunderbirds machine which works fine when first switched on but as the hours pass I find that I am unable to feed coins in after the reels have spun for up to 2 minutes. The problem is that the relay (at least I think that is hat it's called) that controls the coin shute does not click back into place so the coins return to the payout tray. Does anyone know what I can do about this?
It's not too big a deal it just means that I have to wait until I hear the click which can be a little annoying to say the least.

most coin mechs have a solenoid that controls a bar or piece of stamped metal that acts to block the the chute to the coin tray while coins are put into the machine . when the max number of coins is hit or an error exists the solenoid is released opening the slot and allowing the coins to drop thru . the problem here is that the solenoid is not activating this can be caused by many means the most common is a weak coil . the easiest way to check this is to find the area on the door where the solenoid is mounted then next time it happens thump the door and see if the solenoid picks up . if it does try doing these things to alleviate the problem #1 lubricate any surface that the metal piece comes in contact with to allow it to move freely also try to bend the metal piece closer to the coil so it doesn't have to travel as far . either of which should help the problem also check the connections for the plug on the coin mech to see their making good contact . Hope this helps
    Jeff

i believe were talking tokens Azlew either way it happens after playing for some time which eliminates the possibility of him using the wrong coinage .

Thanks for the ideas on this problem- the solenoid/coil seems to be pretty powerful and thumping the door or manually pushing the metal plate makes no difference. At least I'm now narrowed down to an electrical fault either in the wiring to the coil or something on the circuit board not switching the current on. Wiring I can deal with, if it's circuit boards then it's beyond me!
I'll let you know how I get on.

Hi, I'm using the Japanese coins that came with the machine. They look legitimate and work fine. They are all the same and I don't think they are a problem.

Tim the reason I was asking is that I had a simular problem not to long ago from tokens sent with a pachislo that I bought. The Japanese tokens that came with the pachislo were too light of weight (thinner than normal tokens) for the mechanism and would cause problems like yours after a while of feeding them in the Pachislo. But after the dealer sent me heavier thicker tokens the problem went away. The lighter weight tokens work fine tho in another pachislo of mine so they didn't go to waste.

Just something for you to consider....
