I've noticed more and more of the IJ machines going on Ebay. Has anyone here been playing one? What are your opinions. Is it better than Star Wars?

Well, mine arrived this week so here goes (the little I've been able to play it!).
Got the cell from Japan for about $165 total.

I like the play so far, lots of action from the animatronics (the roof and right wall thing). Haven't seen Indy in the ore car yet. Sometimes when it's going into a reach, the roof comes down some and the wall tilts in, Short Round runs accross or snakes fall from the ceiling and then the reach. All in Japanese, with some scenes from the films that lead into animations of that scene. One I've seen so far is where Indy is replacing the golden god with the sack of sand. Movie scenes that lead to the animated Indy getting ready to place the sand. He did, a second later a boulder fell on his head!

No Fever For You!

The playfield is different from what I'm used to. The 'flipper' that opens when a ball goes thru the 'chance' passthru is on the left side of the center screen surround. And there's a big skull where the big Bonus door would normally be. I looked at it for a while before I figured it out! There are big wings on either side of the skull that open during bonus. The skull lights up red normally, and tips back and shines bright white on some reaches.

Just like any Pachi, if you can get it for a good price, it's all good!

I'm in the middle of downloading a 12.5meg pic of the machine that I can edit to show some of the features (dialup sux! Can't get hi-speed here, which is interesting considering the million-dollar homes we're surrounded by! I wonder how they'd feel knowing a Pachinko Parlor was in their neighborhood?), so I'll post it when it show's up!

If you like the theme, and don't mind everything in Japanese, it's a great machine!

But I'm a Sankyo-phile, out of 36 of my modern machines, 22 are Sankyo's. 2 Lumina (white,red), 3 Victory (dgrey,pink,purple), 2 FF (silver, 1CR,1cash), and 2 red Stellar cases. 9-Victory cells, 8-Lumina cells. Cells are the way to go if you want to save a couple bucks and don't have room to display a lot of machines. As long as the frame is well mounted, it only takes a few minutes to change the theme! On a Lumina, open the case, disconnect 2 pink connectors at the bottom, release 3 catches and swing the payout system out of the way. Disconnect 2 more pink connectors at the top, release 5 white catches and lift the cell out. Reverse to install. Once you've done it once, you'll be amazed how fast it can be done! I've done it with a machine on the floor and the door open 90 degrees (machine tilted forward resting on the door). Still only takes a few minutes.

I havent had time to play it for more then 10 minutes work is kicking my ass. Managed 5 minutes or less with Top Gun and less then 10 on Yellow Cab, needless to say my others miss me.
