Star Wars Pachinko - Wont start first time?

Has anyone come up with a fix for this issue yet?

I've posted this before in a different thread, but can't seem to find it at the moment. It's definitely a temperature related issue, mine is perfect and starts first time if it's been kept at 20 degrees (C) or above. Below 16 and you've got to wait for R2 to do his dance.

The issue seems to be the Hitachi SH3 graphics CPU on the sub control board on the cell. It just doesn't seem to like low temperatures.

I've removed the video board from the sub control board casing, and kept it warm indoors overnight, while the rest of my Star Wars has been in my unheated workshop at below 10 degrees C (50 Fahrenheit), and once reunited it powers up first time. Do it the other way round and you're waiting five minutes before it's playable.

To be honest I don't think it's really 'fixable' as such. It seems to be present in all of my Sankyo machines with the SH3 CPU + Samurai Force graphics chipset to some extent. Even two identical machines (Magic Party) both exhibit the problem, one happens if it's even slightly cool, the other one you need to drop the temperature to about 12 degrees C to get it to start playing up.

Okay, I have one case and three cells and have never experienced this problem. Now they sit in my office which is not damp or cold like a basement.

Maybe if you got it a blanket?
