Looks like they are getting closer to release. Here is a movie on their site that is fun to watch with Woody and friends :

September 21st, at the Ueno showroom they had a preview of the now apparent release in November of Woody 2.

The release mentions something that sounds interesting as far as graphics go :

super beautiful and colorful production the graphic capacity of 4GB is loaded onto 15 inch liquid crystal
4 Gigs may or may not be impressive but combined with the 15 inch LCD it might be something to look at anyway

To give you a frame of reference. Lord of the Rings is 1 Gig, and Star Wars is 1.25 Gig. But both of these are 640x480 resolution LCD panels. I expect a 15" LCD panel to be 1024x768, so might need a bit more CG memory to drive it.

Interestingly enough though, my Neo Powerful has a 15" 1024x768 LCD panel but uses the same SHARC SH3 CPU and 'Samurai Force' graphics processor setup that Sankyo have used since LotR, the output of which is designed to drive a 640x480 panel. The way it gets around this is to use a Pixelworks image processor chip (mounted on the panel itself) to upscale the VGA resolution display output to XGA resolution for the panel.

Here is the TV Commercial that is announcing Woody 2 in Japan :

    or :

It looks like there is no ashtray in this frame either? Or is that area too dark to tell?
