    Default Retirement in Fla!

Well we finally dusted off the bank book and, given our age, we decided to spend a little on ourselves.
As you know were not much on travel or vacations so we decided to purchase a small home in Florida, yes Florida. This means only one return flight a year and we can go at our own pace once there and if we feel like it we can take the odd day trip.
It is a 2 bedroom, or three if you convert the small den, eat in kitchen, small dining room, good size family room and living room.
The house includes a 25 foot 75 horsepower (inboard) boat, nothing special but it only has 230 hours on it and we are on a causeway with a dock and boat house. This was included in the sale and we also bought the estates car, a 2004 Ford Tempest, 18,000 miles on it.
The home was for sale due to a death and the wife is going to live with her son in Chicago.
The house is on the outskirts of Palm Beach about a 5 minute drive to downtown. We took possession last Monday. You all now have a winter vacation spot. Picture is attached.

    Take care, B & g

yes, it will happen for a few mornings now until the snow decides to stick to the ground. Luckily, the days warm up to around 12C. We'll be stomping around in our mukluks in a few weeks. There is a little snow stuck on rooftops this morning, but it should be gone as soon as the sun gets a little higher in the sky.
We took a trip down south in July to southern Ontario and spent two days in a hotel when the humid X topped 50C. The only time we see 50 on the thermo is minus 50 in Dec/Jan/Feb & first part of March!!

I grew up in DA UP and summer was the best two weeks of the year! I forget sometimes that da UP is down south for my Canadian friends. Actually Toronto is south of the 45th I think so that would be like Florida to Manitobans.
being north of the 45th the means we are closer to the north pole than we are to the equator.
I moved to South west Michigan, we have several months of summer now.
    Cheers,
