Browsing around youtube.com I ran across these interesting fruit machine videos :

Refill keys used to work on fruit machines, but now the vast majority of them will either set off a very loud alarm when the keys are used, or will only work if the machine is opened up already. Any machines left where the keys would still work, usually have the keyswitch disconnected by the operator.

As far as a player is concerned, the information given out by using a refill key is only really useful if you already have a detailed knowledge of the payout cycles of that particular machine, and had been observing it for the last few thousand plays, but in that case you'd probably have a good idea whether the machine is likely to pay out without resorting to using the refill key.

I don't know any operators that use refill keys, so they seem a bit of a pointless thing to me. But we have caught a few people trying them in the arcades and have confiscated the keys and forcibly ejected them from the premesis.

they look like very interactive machines to play.

but, from what I've heard they are very tight with payouts.

So they can't have the odds adjusted?

That would not be very "home" friendly then would it

The Percentage Payout can be adjusted by means of an Odds Key / Percentage Key

some of these are pre-set and some are adjustable

So the Payout can be increased or decreased within a range
    usually between 70% and 98% I believe

iv mainly found that when they become real interactive they are eaither going to do one of 2 things they gonna rob you blind or spew there guts never found a machine that has a happy medium ie it ofers you the chance to gamble higher or lower on the spin of an electronic dice if its gonna rob you it will land lower on a 2 if it is gonna spew it will land on a 12 from a 2 and so forth if it wants you to stop gambling it will throw a 6 and offer you higher or lower knowing your avrage bare will give up at that point as the odds are now even

Thanks! This explains a couple of things that my girlfriend and I were trying to figure out with the new fruit machine that the online casino that we gamble on just recently made available.

Where do you usually set the odds payout for the Fruit machines you have?

    A little more information.......

First Pic -Adjustable Keys (D.I.L. Switches)

Second Pic - Pre-Set Keys (top shows Stake 25p & Jackpot £25 Bottom one shows it's Payout to be 78%)

Third Pic - Both Types in same machine

Fourth Pic - Table of Adjustments

With the Pre-Set Keys - obviously if you wish to change the Odds, Stake or Jackpot, etc - then you would need to purchase the relevant key......

We have the full Manuals for all these Machines if anyone requires further specific information....

The trick would be to put a "ball handler" on it for my orange tree in my back yard wired into a tree shaker.

Half of them are already rolling down off of a aluminum awning off the back portch.

I promised to upload some video onto Youtube of my UK fruit machine and in particular in reply to Azlews post about percentage payouts.

Well I managed to upload these videos at the weekend, but due to the fact that the video was nearly 500mb, I have had to split this into 6 uploads (which took about 3 hours to upload in total).

Anyway because they are not directly pachi related I have not posted them directly to view on here, but if you click on the links below it will take you to each video.

Apologises about the commentary, but I do not have any editing software so I had to do the commentary I as shot the video on my DVD camcorder. I hope that those interested in UK fruit machines find these interesting & I will post some more video on this thread of the gameplay in the coming weeks.

    WOW!!!

Chris THANKYOU for what you have done so far! Great videos and I have to say that that is a sharp looking Monopoly Fruit Machine!!

Thanks for explaining how the odds are set with the dongles and also showing the interior of a Fruit Machine.

Your explanation of the game play makes me think that these are a fun machine to play with!

I in all my lifetime had never seen the pound notes nor the pence coins and also of course the lb coin! Your up close view of the notes and coins is wonderful!

Your narration is excellent and the quality of your video is fantastic!

Thanks again for your hard work. I know it is a pain to deal with youtube's 100 meg restriction per file and the amount of time to get them uploaded is at times very slow but the quality you present is excellent.

PLEASE post more when you get a chance
