Well Wednesday is here already and that means......

Yes, another UK Fruit Machine has come to outnumber my precious Pachinkos......

This one is called ' Return of the Count' and has a nice little Horror / Vampire Theme going on.....

Hopefully, this will be the last for a while - giving my Pachi collection a chance to catch up!!

There are some nice machines in this thread!

I'm more into the vintage fruit machines from the 1980's, like this old beast that currently lives in my front room...

I can't say I have ever seen one - but being a teensy weensy bit of a Star Wars Fan I'm sure I would have noticed it!!

If I do discover one I'll let you know !!

You do know they weigh an absolute ton don't you!!??

You really would need to strengthen your floors!!

That's another reason why mine are kept downstairs in the Garage - it has a concrete floor - I could imagine them falling through my wooden floorboards otherwise!!

These are great pics of those fruit machines being posted here

Any videos of them in action available anywhere?

It's a shame that we can't get them here in the US as they would be a blast to have and I am sure they would probably sell since they are primarily English themed etc except the German ones.

Maybe some importer might want to take a chance ?

The only time I saw one was in The Gameroom Magazine a couple of years ago when they had a Star Wars article (they were the first to announce the Star Wars Pachinko being available).

These have been a education to me also. I always thought they were a big floor standing box with a rectangle of led lights that would light one at a time and go around the rectangle and you would press a button to stop them at a point to win a amount (usually one led).

Add me to that list of people that have learned a lot recently about these. Most of my education has been from a dvd I bought from someone on Ebay in the UK. The dvd has hundreds of fruit machines emulated for the pc. Playing these emulations plus reading this thread has really got my interest again into finding more on that Star Wars Fruit machine. I am going to contact The Gameroom magazine for a reprint of the great StarWars article they had that discussed past and future Star Wars Video games, slots, and pachinkos etc. Hopefully they will allow me to post the pic of the Star Wars fruit machine here.

Ok I found the article about the Star Wars Fruit Machine!

It can be found in the GameRoom Magazine - June 2004 issue. You can still backorder this issue on their website.

On page 10 the discussion about the fruit/slot machine includes that in 1996 the Star Wars Fruit machine was manufactured by the British company JMP International excusively for the German market! It has voices from the characters in GERMAN! It was officially licensed by LucasFilm! Also discussed is the fact that it was only a token machine. The tokens were TIE FIGHTER tokens!
Going further along it is described as a 3 wheel Full size "touch" machine. If you match 3 Tie Fighters then you play the second game where you fly around a Star Destoyer and get a lightsaber etc. It has a lot of lights and lots of token points to possibly win.

Further on the same page is a aprox 2X4 black and white picture of the Star Wars Fruit machine.
Above it is the statement :

An impossible to find German "slot machine" which dispenses tokens redeemable for prizes. A top rare piece in the world of Star Wars coin-op colecting.
I am trying to find a color image of it to post here. If someone else can find it that would be great also. If a color image can't be found then I will have the B&W image scanned and then post it.

I've made a video of my "Crackerpot" fruit machine in action, but it's in .ASF format. Is there any chance this filetype could be added to the list of acceptable attachment types?

I don't know if it is possible to attach video files here or not. Try posting it on the free youtube.com site or putfile.com if you can. You might have to change it to a mpeg format but I am not familiar with the asf format.

    Hi All,
Like a lot of the other UK guys, I have a couple of fruit machines in the games room - but one of the machines has an issue I would love to have fixed. Is anyone on here a fruit machine engineer, or know anything about moneycontrols SR5 coin mechanisms?

I recently bought a lovely BGT Hi Lo Calypso on eBay, it is a gorgeous ymachine and works fine, but unfortunately it seems to divert £2 to the £1 hopper, and sometimes £1 coins divert to the cashbox even when the hopper is running low.

From looking at the SR5 manual on the moneycontrols website, it seems like it could be a problem with the routing plug, which looks like it has been modified at some point.

Any advice or help would be very much appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Mark

PS: Its a very imposing looking machine - I didnt realise when I bought it, but it is over 6' 6" tall!
Pachislos: Sinbad Adventure, Super Blackjack, Popeye.
    Pachinkos: Star Wars, Flunky Dog.

I try my hardest not to be, but occasionally some the locations I operate my pinballs at convince me to take a look at them.

Your problem sounds very much like a misconfigured routing plug. Only problem is I don't know what would be the correct configuration for this machine. Whenever I'm in a similar situation, I've usually got plenty of other machines around to borrow plugs from, and can then copy one that works!

i know nothing about fruit machines but my mate i think had something similar
and there was a hidden button to reset the coin mech under a shelf right at the back above the bottem cash box hidden out of the way as well
quick reset job was a good one

went like this if i rember rightly after the top cash box was getting full and played up ever since on a barcrest cabinet this was on

might be on the wrong lines totally and if i am totally ignore this

    Hi Dave/Deano,
Thanks for that - Im pretty sure it is the routing plug, as it looks like it has been modified at some time and all the wires are twisted together - Im guessing this was when 5p/£2 coins were introduced, but I might be wrong.

Ive done resets and a hopper dump/refil but it still sems to divert £2 to the hopper. Its not a massive problem though, I was just wondering whether anyone knew of a quick fix.

Thanks for the advice so far, and if anyone things of anything else please let me know ;O)

    Thanks again, Mark :o)
