Harley Davidson's not pachislo!

Thought I'd share with you guys a local event that has been taking place in our village this weekend. As many of you know from an earlier post we moved a couple of months ago to a place called Baildon, which is in West Yorkshire in the UK. Anyway it is a bank holiday weekend in the UK (what most of you would probably call a public holiday). Anyway this weekend every year a massive Harley Davidson rally is held with bikes coming from all over the UK & even Europe to meet in Baildon for 3 days. The highlight of the event is a "road run" that takes place on the Sunday when all the bikes meet in the village & then set off under police escort to a local steam rally some 15 miles or so away. Each bike takes with them to the steam rally a new teddy bear/toy to donate to local childrens hospitals. All our family walked down to the village to watch this event & have a look at the bikes & I have posted some pictures for you to have a look at, along with a short video (sorry there is no sound - but my PC does not have a sound card). Although the noise from the 400-500 bikes was deafening, so you are probably better off without the sound!

We used to go over to Barton (across the Humber Bridge) to see the Bike Nights there - not been for a couple of years though.....sigh.....

Chris we have rides like that here in the USA too. We call them Toys for Tots rides and have them all over the States. Thanks for the post!

oooooh those things... they're used to protect your not so thick skull from spewing its contents when your bike gets hit by the little old lady that didnt check her blind spot when she turns left.... and your head hits the closest available hard thing...

Well can you believe it has been 2 years since I last posted about the Harley Davidsons visiting our village. Well it a public holiday over here this weekend and the Harley's have been here since Thursday, today they all left on a road trip to the local steam festival in Leeds, most of them taking cuddly toys for the local hospitals.

Sam and I went down to watch them all leaving & enjoy a beer or two (you have to socialise don't you )

Wow, That's a lot of bikes! I am in the process of selling my Aspencade GL1500A so I can get a Harley Road King. That video makes me jealous I don't have one yet.
