    Default Home Depot Cabinet?

I was just in Home Depot looking at wood to build a cabinet. I realized that Home Depot sells pine and other woods in 1 x 8 for shelving, etc. An 8 inch depth would work for a cab, but is 1 inch wood too thick for a pachinko cab?

I prefer 3/4'', 1'' is thick but its really a personal preference. I prefer a 3/4'' two side finished plywood. $30 for a 4'x8' sheet.

    Nominal 1 x 8 = 3/4" x 7 1/4" actual.

Check out the price of aspen, (poplar) it is a paint grade hardwood, it has less pitch and can be stained or painted with good results.

    And yes 1x8 is actually 3/4" x 7 1/4"

This is exactly what I intend to use to build one. I considered using 3/4 MDF, but I decided that I'd really rather use solid wood. Hopefully I'll get started on this project this weekend. -S

HMM, too bad I don't buy cabinets at the Depot, I tend to build my own. It would be better if they smuggled in tokens and balls thiough. You can tell what MY addiction is.
