Default Could you use standard 11mm Steel balls?

I have been wondering whether its possible to use 'normal' 11m Steel Ball Bearings in a pachinko.

Looking at a Pachinko ball, it appears to be a normal ball bearing with a logo/motif/writing on it..

So would there be any problem just using standard ball bearings (Assuming you could get them)? I am sure that it would be cheaper than buying Pachnico balls and I can't see a downside.

I look forwards to your thoughts

    All the best

Well, forget that idea.. When I measured the balls, they are almost EXACTLY 11mm..

I have contacted a random engineering supplier and apparantly, 11mm is an odd size which equals expensive.

But they do have some 7/16" (which is 11.1mm) which would be a lot cheaper.

So the first question is whether the extra .1mm would be a problem.. But then it comes down to price and it was a bit of a shock.

For stainless steel balls, they would let me have.. For £15 (approx $30).. Wait for it... 100 balls.

So, it makes the pachinko Pachinko balls we buy a bit of a bargain.

I asked about bulk quantities, thinking that perhaps I could supply others, and they want £62 per 1000 (approx $120)..

So, I think I should stick to Pachinko balls and stop being stingy!

    Cheers

Plus with them being the wrong density, it will eventually kill your machine.
