Looking at the pic, am I seeing that there is a latch attaching it to that other board so you can undo it and lift it off the wall?
That is brilliant! I don't believe I have seen that before.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

Yes that is right - we might like a change of Pachinko now and again!!!

The idea is actually from Youngjedi's excellent Journal!

Both pieces of wood have been cut at a 45 degree angle and this is very strong. you must use metal wall bolts rather then plugs for this due to the weight pushing down onto the angle. We actually chose Pine Shelving wood as this was a better finish, and already bevelled off, it was a bit more expensive but worth it because it is in the Living Room.

We are hoping to Cabinet all our Pachinkos eventually - so we can swop as the mood takes us!

We hope to have an extension built at some time and then all of our machines will have pride of place.....

Temporarily, go to youtube.com and search for BudgeRahe for videos. Until I get the links set up in the museum

Well are you Guys ready for the next thrilling episode!

First up....this is the Hopper - The plastic Pipe has been fixed in place using a Holt Melt Glue Gun......and no I didn't let him glue it on the Rug!

We have also fixed two strips of Iron On Tape to the Front Edges of the Hopper to hopefully avoid any chips to the paintwork when refilling.......

We have placed a temporary (looking a little lopsided here?!) Logo to dress the Hopper, whilst we source a better Logo or Picture........

And here it is all assembled and now working perfectly......

The next thing we need to do is to make the Ball Drop a little better looking!.....

Before I put the hopper on top of my cabinet, My friend wanted me to cut up my Stormtrooper helmet and use it as the hooper. I loved the idea, but I didn't want to cut the top off the helmet. It would be wrong.

One thing I thought about for the LOTR Hopper is a Gold ring "bowl" ...With some foam and fiberglass...It could be done.

the 45 board on the wall plus the 45 on the stand is called a museum rail. Used by museums to mount heavy stuff quickly and securely. the latch is a nice touch since your mounting an interactive machine not just displaying it.
with a long enough rail we usually can screw into wall studs. If not the next best option is to use "molly" bolts, be warned they will make a huge mess if they get pulled through drywall.
    my 2 cents +2
    Nice job!

Excellent idea! extend the theme of the machine onto the cabinet, goto dollar store or pawn shop and get items to incorporate.

So it does have a name then 'Museum Rail' thanks for that...

Not sure what 'Molly' Bolts are though....

We used 3 no. strong bolts with steel plugs which when tightened expand and the Cabinet is attached to the Main Wall of the House.

We are also checking inside the cabinet on a weekly basis at the moment just to make sure there are no signs of wood splitting and no signs of movement...

    So far so good..

See this link for example, I know people from varing areas have some different terminology. http://alsnetbiz.com/homeimprovement..._pictures.html
option two on this page. I prefer to use the proper screws into a stud or wooden backer spanning the distance between studs. But in a pinch I will use a molly, I NEVER use plastic anchors, and loosening a toggle bolt will cause it to fall inside the wall. Quite frustrating as customers will want a mirror or shelf remove to have the wall re-painted soon after a remodel.
