Default First Posts - and lots of questions.....

Total newb to the pachinko thing having picked up a Let's Go Circuit while at the UK Pinball show today. Already got a Pinball table and a Pachinko seemed the ideal game to complement it

Its a straight out of the parlour one - which seems nice and clean and good value for 99 ukp. As is always the way with these things - i've now got the obligatory newbie questions - i have done a forum search and couldnt find the answers. Somethings were explained to my by the guy @ pachinkos.co.uk but with 175 pinball tables plus Pachinko's and Pachislos going around me i think i missed stuff

I guess most of these will be obvious but any help appreciated.

All the balls that are kept by the machine seem to come straight out of the back and on the floor - am i supposed to just have a tray round there to collect them ? - though i guess it cant payout if they're down there

The ball release knob that rotates round is like a variable control - mine seems to sometimes do nothing and then you have to turn it back and forwards a few times to get it to go - sounds like dirty contacts to me ? - is this mechanism removable for cleaning.

Is there supposed to be sound during play or only when you get a ball to drop into the centre target - it seems very quiet with just balls falling - i know these machines have a reputation for being loud - but is it right for just a few seconds at a time. Also there's no sound when the screensaver type bit kicks in.

    Almost finished....

I was shown the little LED display on the back and told this was a diagnostics detail - obviously the diagnostic descriptions are all in japanese - mine is displaying 7 - hopefully 7 is good

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

Ok first questoin answered is yes the used balls should drop out of the back and you need a ball tray to catch them in

question 2 answer the ball release knob (the shooter) has a metal ring around the back of it you need to touch the ring and the knob (shooter) with the same hand ie put your fingers around the shooter and on to the ring it is there to stop people just jamming the shooter with a token/ coin when it was in the parlours

question 3 answers whils playing there is no sound apart from balls craching untill you start hitting the center pocket you can bank 4 spins in the center pocket and it will seem like the music plays forever when you keep landing the balls in the center pocket

Also have you read through the first section on the main page at the top titled "So You're New To Pachis" It goes over alot of the basics, and will answer alot of questions if you are new to the hobby.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

    Thanks for the replies..

I'll plead temporary blindness to the very helpful posts at the top of the forum. Between them they answer all the questions i raised.

One other question i didnt see explained what are the two yellow buttons on the front with a small amount of japanese writing next to them - we pressed them and they dont seem to do anything noticable.

    Thanks

    Dean.

ps. Hopefully my posts will be more constructive in future

the buttons at the front are for the credit reader they use in parlours and for atendant call light but arnt used in home use unless you want to dress the wife/partner in a bunny suite and ahve them serve you when you press the button and the light above your machine come on

I just received mine from Arbycoffee a few days ago. I find it very similar in quality to the Lord of the Rings machine, but more intertaining, especially if you like the GT Racing theme. (Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my LOTR and wouldn't want to part with it. But I do find the gameplay dry at times, and the Starter music is annoying.)

This machine been called by many names; GT Circuit/GT Racer/Let's Go Circuit/Circuit e Iko!.

The "Starter" music is not as repetative nor as anoying as the "LOTR", and the the engine reving sound fits right in. The light show, while not as spectacular as that of the newer Sankyo "Lumina" cased games, holds it's own. The functional Tachometer is nice, but I do think the Turbo, Fuel and Temperature guages should have had indicator needles on them, even fake ones. A great addition would would have been to put lights on the turn signals and other engine lights.

After a few days of constant "GT Time" play, and numerous reaches and super reaches, I've just finished a series of three Fever rounds in a row. The videos are of high quality like the "LOTR" and the music is lively and upbeat.

I do miss the fantastic start-up video that the "Lord of the Rings" displays on power-up. It's worth owning that game just to show it off to friends.

While not in the same class as Star Wars, Top Gun or Julie Pinball, this is a solid machine. While it is not spectacular, it is fun to play and may be underrated.

A run of seven Fevers now and still counting. Both Big and Regular bonus, in and out of the 100 round bonus time.

I need a new set of driving gloves and a leather wrap for the starter knob. Now where can I hang that set of fuzzy dice?

Thanks for all the replies and welcomes

Here's the next question - i've not won any balls back yet

I've put plenty in the top hopper - they definately go down the shute to the side - i even moved the little lever that deposited about 200 balls on the floor - Doh!!!

I can see all the balls sat there but none are coming out when i win.

I assume a win is when a couple of reels line up and a line of fire appears - i've also been into GT time once so would assume there would be something won for that.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated - i'm loving the game but would like to see some reward.

Oh - and thanks to this list - i joined on Sunday when i got my Pachinko, and then on Monday ordered a Sinbad adventures Pachislo which arrived yesterday - what a cool game - managed a 777 thing and got soooo many tokens
