Default 7/14/2006, What a day, What a day.

Had a heck of a Friday, July 14,2006.

My wife was asleep in the recliner due to uncomfortableness of the pregnancy, I was in charge of getting ourselves up and ready for her routine OB appointment. Of course, I overslept causing us to run a lil late, while on our way the wife is grumbling at me for oversleeping and keeps telling over and over, "Michael, I swear to G@d if you are late or make me late for the C-section on July 27 I, I, I, you just best not be late." anyways, her sister calls and her car won't start and is stranded at the gas station. So we swing by there to pick her up on the way, aggravating the wife even more.

We get to the Dr. Office with 1min to spare I might add. And allow sis-inlaw to use our car to go get a friend to help her out. We get settled in the dr. office, meanwhile the wife is still grumbling about the morning we had been having so far. We get called in and the nurse says Doc wants to do a non stress test since we are getting closed to the planned C-section and wife has been complaining of pre-term labor.

Well, then this aggravates me cuz I don't like sitting and waiting.. The Nurse hooks wife up to the machine and we start our 30mins. of waiting. thump, thump thump, thump thump of the baby's heart beat fills the room. heart rate ranging from 125-140, good deal.... contraction monitor shows 0-5 good deal.

I'm chasing the "lil one" around a 10x15ft room attempting to keep her out of the cabinets and drawers when the cell phone rings. Its the sister-inlaw. to make this part of the day short, she was driving too fast and had an accident, while she is alright the car doesn't look too good. Of course the wife notices "the look" and asks what is bothering me now. I tell her. she gets aggravated for me letting sis use the car. thump thump thump, thump thump thump. heart rate is hitting 150. Contractions are hitting 50-60. (0-5 is normal everyday life. 10-15 is like when a guy tightens up his stomach to make it look rock hard.) Doc comes in, "Whats going on Lyndzee" while pointing to the monitor, "uh, that has been everyday life for me for the last 2months" "thats not good. I'm sending you over to ob Dept. at the hospital to see if we can get these stopped. you shouldn't be having these hard of contractions with 23days before your due date." Then I chime in, "uh, that might be a problem since her sister just wrecked our car." "thats fine you guys can ride over with me." so we go over to the hospital, Lyndzee gets checked in while I get the sitter to come to the hospital to get "lil one"

We have been at the hospital for 2hrs. now. Terbutaline didn't work, so they went to breathene, that didn't work. Contractions are now hitting 70 wife is in tears due to the pain. 2:21pm the doc comes in, "Well, kids I hate to say this but we need to get the baby out, she is just not gonna wait. " He then proceeded to tell us what to possibly expect and even the worst. they wheel Lyndzee off to get her preped for surgery and I am left in the room to worry to death, call family, and get my scrubs on. Oh, did I mention I HATE waiting? lol

The nurse FINALLY comes in, "ok dad lets do it" I go in and take my position at Lyndzee's head attempting to comfort her and reassure her that everything will be ok, while in the back of my head, I must admit I was scared as he!!. The nurse said "ok dad, you can watch now. So I stood up and started watching and getting ready to start hitting the button on the camera to snap the pics meanwhile praying to the good lord above to take care of my wife and my new lil girl, Then, the doc said in a loud voice, OMG!!!!

Oversleeping and getting a new whazoo from the wife: OUCH!!!

Getting to the appointment with one min. to spare: Oh yeah, I da man!!!!

Waiting and waiting and waiting: OMG!!! Don't go there!

Sister having an accident: Total Loss $23,419 thank god for insurance.

Having an 8pound 4ounce healthly baby girl: PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!

To finish the story, The Doc was expecting the worst. The OMG was due to her size. She was 23 days premature, Doc said "I'm glad we didn't wait until the 27th, cuz we would have had a butchered mom and a 10pound baby. Mom and baby are home and doing fine.

Thank you all for the spellings of our lil girl's name but the wife decided after the baby was 2days old to spell it KateLynn Maureen
