Super Black Jack makes noises.. Can it be silenced?

Before I got my SBJ, I remember reading a post from someone saying that it made a sound like a fient 'breeze' from the speakers.

Well, I have noticed the same thing.. When its in its attract mode and the lights are doing their thing, the machine makes this noise which changes as the lights flash. The noise is like a hissing noise which changes pitch depending on how many lights are on

I am assuming that this is normal and hope that someone can confirm this.. But I wonder if anyone has come up with a solution to make it silent (or even quieter)?

Its strange as the noise is reminicent of my UK Fruit Machine which makes a racket (you get a whining/humming/hissing/buzzing sound from the speakers, PSU, CPU and motors).. This is completely normal (And much louder than SBJ) and unfortunatly there is no way to fix it.. So, I keep this machine off most of the time.. Out of my 4 Pachislos on SBJ does this and when the room is quiet its actually quite annoying.

My fingers are crossed that someone has found a way to fix this and I look forwards to your thoughts

Or don't, you get used to it. I bought volume controls for mine months ago and have yet to install them. Oh wait, I'm constantly working on the forum so I rarely have time to do such modifications to make my life nicer!

In all seriousness, the vol ctrls work nicely on the SBJ. It is pretty loud without them.

try adding a 1/2 watt 47 ohm resistor in line with each speaker then use the oem volume switch installed on the unit to reduce the volume and take out the hiss sound your hearing ........total cost about a buck and a half with tax....the experience it gives you, priceless !!!!

I just used the syscom volume controls ( 5 for $15 ones) and my Super Black Jack is fine...No more hiss......

The hiss on my Wanted machine goes quite nicely with the 'slow horse riding through the desert' theme.

Good idea.. I never thought of that.. Since the hiss is constant with the volume, increasing it using the inbuild controls and then decreasing it using a resitor (or pot) would do the trick.

I am on the case..

these ideas have been covered many times in the past and documented here next time try using the search function and you'll probably find a fix has already been found if not feel free to post and hopefully someone will be able to help you out .This is the most knowledgeable pachi site on the INTERNET and some of the most talented people reside in these walls to be of assistance all you need to do is search it first if its not there the challenge will get you an answer from the group in a very short time if possible. all we ask is that you pass the knowledge on when others ask your assistance.....
