    Hanabi.

I have the same cabinet (From Steve) as you.. Are you going to paint it?

I have a plan to remove the Pachinko from it, and then give it a good coat of paint.

If you do, make sure you have a look at Google first about painting MDF as there are a lot of problems such as

    1. MDF (especially the ends) sucks paint in so needs to be primed
    2. Waterbase paints lift the fibres and don't leave a good finish.

One thing you might be interested to note is that Steve mounts the Pachinko with the 'frame' flush to the outside edge of the cabinet.. I have looked at it and don't see why the frame can't be moved an inch or so, to recess the unit so that It (rather than the frame) sits flush.

If you look at the laminated wood at the bottom, the ends are visible. If you moved the whole unit back inside the cabinet, so that this laminated surface is flush with the cabinet, I think it would look MUCH better!

Also note that Steve (on mine at least) leaves the PSU at the bottom in the corner.. This is LIVE mains voltage and whilst its insulated by "chocolate blocks" its not safe, especially as you have to put your hand in there to get you balls out (Excuse the expression)

I am going to move my PSU up inside the back, so that there is no chance of touching it!!

I am going to start mine next week and will let you know how I get on.

    All the best

    Thanks for that Jon

Yes Other Half has said 'Don't Touch That!'

As for painting the cabinet - we are still trying to work out where it will live permanently it's in our outdated Kitchen temporarily) then we can decide.

As we are looking at a few more at the moment we might wait so we can maybe put them all in cabinets?

You should be able to mount your pachinko flush with the case, that's how I do all mine.
