hopper feed mod

I tried to do a hopper feed mod on my tairyu machine it all seemed ok until I put it in what I did was use a dpdt switch one side to feed coins and the other side to disable the counter so I didn't get an error. it worked ok when I fliped the switch to feed the coins no error cool I thought now when I fliped it back I got an error. what happened is that a coin was part of the way thorugh the hopper and tripping the counter when I put it back on.
so what has everyone else done to fix this problem.

I was thinking If I had a way to program a pic chip or something that could feed it for me while I press a momentary button and when I let go it makes sure the sensor is clear before connecting it back

this normally doesn't happen the error you got was probably from the machine loosing contact with the optical switch and it was reporting that as an error .did you try it with the optics left hooked up some machines like my hanabi by elco don't count coins going out unless its paying out ....but my don don king registered an error when coins were coming out and it wasn't paying out so try it with the switch wiring left in . another means would be to wire in another inferred led so that when the coins are passing through it still sees light .this was an old trick used to cheat machines of coins years ago .......

Yes I tried it with optics left in as soon as I fliped the switch it gave an error. I know its an error for a coin triggering the sensor
it wont reset unless i feed the coin the rest of the way out.
this machine is making me work for this mod.

that is strange usually the coin is thrown clear of the shute or it would happen when the machine counts enough coins also .....are you sure your shute is throughly clear no dust bunnies or such in the way ? does it do it everytime you use the switch or just now and then ???? if it does it everytime it cant be just you turning off the switch unless your eyeshooting has gone to your wrist stopping at the same point everytime .....

no not everytime but alot i'm just turning it off at the wrong time and I get a coin part of the way through triggering the sensor.
I did put a led on the sensor side to try and get it when its not on
but wow that goes too fast to get exact.
