I came across this interesting thread on a forum board dedicated to foreigners (English) living in Japan. They are discussing making money at playing Pachislo (mostly) and techniques... feeds directly into our discussion about how / when machines pay off, memory and stats, etc.

Just sold a Nishijin Y & O model. It was stored for a time. Fired up and test played it.
Those earlier electronics are scary. I sold it 'cause I like the older gravity models.
Easier to maintain.
