What is this board?

While checking out a lighting issue with my Speedracer, I noticed a small PC board plugged into the top of the reel spin/stop board. Is this normal for this machine or is it some type of autostop add-on. Sorry for the poor quality, my good digital camera just crapped out.

It does have an adjustable pot (left side) and what looks like a programable chip too. So people, open the doors on those Speedracers and see if yours has one too.

Opened mine up and no dice. The small board is not attached to the reel spin/stop board as shown in your photo. I'll be interested to see what it is.

maybe for palour use and it was never removed from his machine.

I got a few machines wiith cables and connectors that didn't hook up to anything on the machine.

Ahh, the plot thickens. The IC on the board is a PIC-12F629 microcontroller. Could this little board be an interface to a "battle counter" ie. count tokens in and out? Speedracer works fine without it.

Notice Musky has gone radio silent since noon? Maybe it broadcasts a homing beacon to aliens and he got beamed up.

A microcontroller....hmm....I'm very interested in this. Which connector is it plugged into? I'd like to know which signals it has access to.
