Is Pachislo a game of Skill

I must admit that I am confused as to whether Pachislo is really a game of skill or not?

I havn't had a lot of time to play my new machine (Beast Sapp), but if I play it like a UK machine (i.e just hit spin and hope for the best), I only get a handful of wins.

But it seems that I am ment to be trying to stop the reals at a given point to get a win.. But from what I understand, stopping the 3rd wheel is not really 'skill'.

Basically, if I just hit the stop buttons at random and forget about the 'skill' what will happen? Will I eventually get a win (like a UK machine) or do you have to show a bit of skill to get a decent win?

no no no you can hit the buttons at random and it will cough its guts but a bit sooner than a uk machine and i mean cough its guts the handful of wins are the teaser to the bonus, big bonus, amd jac games and all the other things its hiding

as for th egame of skill yes and no you can eye shoot the machine and if you continu to do so then you will eventualy be able to crack it but te eye shooting is for the bonus rounds ect wher there is no slipage of the third reel but in normal play the third reel can slip plus or minus a few places so you still stand a chance of hitting it as it dosent always slip

Since it is in essence a gambling device you have to allow for the fact a certain amount of control is given to the machine. With that allowance, is this still a game of skill?

Here's a test to determine this age old question, go get a buddy really drunk while you stay sober. Both of you sit at a machine and play for 30 minutes or an hour or till he passes out. Given the fact that while really drunk your coordination level is at an all time low, if you win more than your drunk buddy, there is skill involved. If he wins more than you do, start drinking.

I can't say about all machines. But I can tell you about my Hanabi Hyekki, which is like your Beast Sapp. When I enter a bonus round, there is only one wheel that I can tell that matters. And that is the first one. That one has three Dons (I guess that is his name) in a row, making it easier to shoot. From what I can tell, all I have to do is shoot for that. And yes, I truly believe it takes skill to hit it. And it does matter. Some of my other machines seem to really make no difference on how I play.

Interesting.. I have my Beast Sapp at Level 3 and have probably stuck in 500+ tokens.. The first half, I just played at random, where as the 2nd 1/2 i tried to stop the reels on the 7s.

To date, I have had a handful of 'bells' (8 tokens) And a number of 'repeats' and thats it.

I can't play it any more as I have decided to paint the furniture to match the room, so hopefully it will be finished by the time I get my King Camel and replacement El-Vision machine later this week.

machines go through dry spells so just keep chuking in tokens it will start paying failing that find an 8 yearold to play the machine the pachi gods seem to shine on them just to infuriate us the machine will light up and pay continuasly till the 8 yearold tires and gose home then it will become stingy as anything towards you again i think it is called sods law

I read about the Neo PlaneT that the win/loss is determind as soon as the spin knob is pressed, I was convinced after playing the Neo planeT the plasma overlay would sometimes tell the player if a replay or 3 bell was about to happen , in fact I would see the icon and ask my wife if she wanted to press the buttons for a winner. (she has terrible luck) FYI, mine is not much better.
It sorta takes some magic out of it.

Update:
the Neo PlanetT has blacked out reels that move very fast, eye shooting is difficult. A Newer machine in my collection Yajikita really is an eye shooter, in a bonus round I have to shoot the correct 7 or bar first, then follow the reel order for payout. some skill needed for sure, the magic is back!
I got yelled at by the wife cause I was 'just looking' at the reel with the door open, made it a heck of a lot easier to eye shoot when ya can see it coming! I did some 'experimenting with eye shooting with the door open and there is still the old 'slip' in the reels. but eye shooting does increase the payout rate. The boss yells at me for cheating if I try this now . But I now sorta have the rhythem of the reels to eye shoot (better than before anyway, I still suck!):sigh1:
