The pic certainly shows you have some balls and that should be enough to determine if there's an issue with this machine.

What can you tell us about what you think it's not doing that it should?

does it shoot the balls when you put them in the upper tray and turn the shooter??

You can open the glass door with a lever on the back and drop single balls in the pockets to see if they payout or do anything else.

i have opened it but it doesnt give any balls as a prize when i put something on the ball weight thing to make it think there are enough and the clown in the middle doesnt move at all
and on the back i think i am missing a piece because there is a spot for one

it works for shooting the balls up and the sound and when u get it in the slots but it doesnt payout anything

I have several of this style and none of them have a part where you indicate you might have something missing.

It's not paying out for any pocket? Not sure what that problem is.

Ok, dug one out and this machine uses the old gravity/teeter system for payout.

Behind that big silver box is the teeter. Pull the three black knobs out a little (they don't come out all the way) and the box can be moved aside. Behind that you should see what I show in the pics below. Sometimes the teeter is down and has to be reset. There should be some kind of lever/pin/knob you can push/pull to make sure it's up. If it isn't up, balls will pile up here and the machine won't pay. Mine's missing some covers here so that's why it has a piece of yarn for a reset.

Up is when the right side is up.

From the picture you posted, yours is more complete than mine!

I'm suprised that there isn't a metal rod of some kind there. Some kind of string or a bent paper clip attached there will allow you to do resets in the future.

Not sure what you mean here, if you are talking about removing the cel (playfield), it's a little more involved on these older machines because they aren't made that way. you're better off leaving it all together for testing.

In the center of the back, approx. where the clown is, there are some solenoids that control parts of the center in the front. Are there gears and a motor in there also? The machines that I can get to have some kind of motor there that runs all the time. Is yours running?

(Yea, yea, 'then you better go catch it!'. Thought I'd head anyone off at the pass!)
