Default Should I drop the El-Vision machine and go for 'BlackJack'?

I got 2 of my 4 machines and the El-Vision (Planet 999) has turned out to be faulty (no display infront of the reels)

Its got me thinking whether I should stick with the Planet 999, or go with the Neo Zetz (Which was my very first choice)

However, after playing my 2nd machine (Beast Sapp) for a few mins, I realised that it too has 'graphics over the reels' which to some extent duplicates the novelty of the El-Vision

My other choice was a 'Super Black Jack' and now I am thinking whether I should ditch the El-Vision and go with the SBJ?

Does anyone have any thoughts about this?

Personally I prefer my Neo Pharaoh Zetz over my Super Blackjack.

    Why?

    a) More 'chance' attempts, quite often you'll be pulling a wall, letting a ceiling cave in, have extra reels overlaid over the originals, chasing a mummy, e.t.c... compared to Super Blackjack in which you... play pre-determined blackjack...

    b) It saves wear and tear on your neck as all you have to focus on is the reels, no LCD display mounted above them you have to keep looking up at.

    c) Seems to (IMHO) save up LESS for Big Bonuses. I get loads of BBs and RBs (Pharaoh Rushes) on my Zetz, but the Blackjack seems to 'suck' loads before it does a Stock Time and gives LOADS of bonuses in quick sucession. Both are on Skill Level 6.

So in my opinion, Super Blackjack is OK, but it is VERY boring if caught at the wrong time and has VERY repetitive CHANCE attempts.

Zetz (for example) is excellent IMHO. Plenty of Chance events to keep you interested going on over the reels.

Still, you'd probably have to own both and compare them

Cheers Bencrest.. Thats very interesting.. Since you arn't biased, your feedback is very valuable.

I am still not sure what to do.. I am certainly going to change from my Planet 999 to a Neo Zetz, just because I have been tainted by the fact that my Planet is broken..

But the option is still there fore a BlackJack instead..

    Thanks again for your input

One thing which may help decide is whether SBJ is a variable stake machine?

Is it "3 tokens per play" like many, or can you bet 1,2 or 3 tokens.

It would be nice to have one in my collection that plays just one line for 1 token!

Interesting.. I see that 'Blackjack is shown as a "1, 2 or 3 Bet model", but is this 'Super Blackjack'?

If SBJ is a one bet machine, then I think that it will be enough to tempt me to swap, as it gives me just that little bit more difference from what I have now.

    Cheers

I would go El Vision. I'm not a big fan of my Super Blackjack. I think the El vision games are more fun. SBJ isn't bad, it is a good pachislo. I just don't find it fun. It tries to have an American casino theme but it is way too japanese to convince me.

Cheers all.. With 3 people (Who both own ELVision and SBJ) saying that they actually prefer their ELVisions.. I am going to stick with it.

When they swap it, I will either go for the Zetz or be daring and stick with the Planet 999.

    Cheers

I owned Neo Planet T and Magic Pulsar and SBJ. I kept the SBJ and gave the other two away as Christmas presents. Not only is it more fun, with more options during play, it's built like a tank and has built in volume controls. The Yamasas while interesting for a bit, lose that interest factor much faster, the reels spin so quick as to eliminate any concept of eye shooting and damn those reels are loud.

Ahhh.. So my decision swings back towards SBJ

I guess one good thing to come out of this is re-assurance is that they are BOTH good, so I won't be disappointed with either.

However, the build quality aspect is pivital to me.. Since my Planet 999 didn't even survive the delivery and I must admit that it doesn't seem very strong, I am tempted to go for the SBJ just because of that.

Another aspect is that I wasn't that impressed with the 'Light Show' on Planet 999, but then again, my El-Vision display isn't working, so perhasp I am not being fair.

Let me ask a different question.. If I wans't really interested in the GamePlay and was soley thinking about 'looks', what then?

Whilst I want something 'fun', my main criteria is an impressive selection, so which looks more impressive.. El-Vision or BlackJack?

SBJ is more impressive IMHO. It has a much better attract mode with the side case lights, top case lights, constantly changing lights over the reels and the running video. The el-vision only runs a repetitive graphics display over their screen and it only has case lights on top.

Again, my opinion only but there isn't really one category that I think the el-vision machines best the net machines.

    I don't agree.

Really though, SBJ is a nice machine. I don't see how it can be more fun than Neo Magic Pulsar..... The Casino theme is cool but I look up at my previous post and have to say again. Its not an authentic american casino theme. To me any way, and that gives it a kinda cheesy feeling. Sorry "Serteen" doesnt do it for me.

Where as NMP has the magical frog and isn't trying to be anything else. There is plenty of fun things that go on in NMP like the battles and the magic pot drops that I really enjoy. I have no trouble eye shooting this machine.

I have played Neo PLanet, (not the 999) and thought it was cool, but even them thought Magic Pulsar was better. I would love to try the Zehtz machine....

Again, Its all about theme and what you are into. Thats the story for these machines when it comes to buying them.

Oh, I love the 'serteen' factor on the SBJ! Pachis are Japanese macnines so I think the Japanese kitsch is a good thing. I also like the subtle cues such as the color of the cocktailers' uniforms cuing the player toward which reel icon is most likely to hit.

Not only does the SBJ have a great attract mode and a vibrant light show but it should be noted that the majority of the lights including the behind reel lights, are LEDs instead of bulbs. This is definitely a plus in my book.

The SBJ also allows the toggle between credit mode and instant payout. I know many machines including my Speed Racer that don't allow this (unless you max it with 50 credits as a workaround).

SBJ is the favorite of my two machines. I've also played Fever Queen, Las Vegas, Beast Sapp, Dance Night, Fire Express and a few others. I'll take my SBJ over all of these although I have yet to get my hands on the elusive Dragon Dice or Spin Luck.

    There's my 2/5 of a nickel.
