2 days to go!!

After buying a UK fruit machine and then discovering the world of Pachislo, I decided to knock down a wall and turn 2 small rooms into a "games room".

Its been a hard few weeks and pretty much finished now.. I just have a small bit of finishing off to do before the carpet comes on Friday...

My Pachi order has been placed and I finally opted for the following:

- Neo Planet 999 (I wanted Zetz, but decided to go for something slightly more unusual)
- King Camel
- Beast Sapp (It was a toss up between this and Sinbad, but I want for the Sapp)
- Star Wars Pachinco.

I am dead excited as I have never even seen a Pachislo/Pachinko in the flesh, let alone played on one.

Friday is going to be a busy day because as well as the Carpet and Pachislos, I am also taking delivery of my 32" LCD TV.. Then I have to find a strong friend to help me get it up all upstairs as well as my Fruit Machine and MAME Cabinet.

I will post some pics when its all finished, but have attached to give you some ideas.

2 Days to go and counting and then I will finally be a fully fledges member of this group

I am sure that another Pachinko will follow.. There may be a supplier more local to me for them, so I am not over worried about buying them in Bulk, as I did with the Pachinko trying to save shipping.

I would really like to get a 'Julie what ever its called', as it looks more like a Pinball machine than a Pachinko.. I will have to wait and see what the prices are like when it gets more popular.

I will certainly report back once the room is full of flashing lights and noise

You know thats the worst part... and im not talking about the situations when your not covering your bills and the debt collectors are after you..

But when you got everything going fine and you got the extra money happening you got to sit there and haggle with your money. If you buy this i want that.

Nice job jweaver. I just put a rug in my new game room and I opted for a commercial carpet with no pad and glued down. Works very well with heavy cabinets and even rolling chairs.
Look forward to seeing everything in place.

Is there any market in the US for fruit machines?
I like the looks of them, and have them emulated, but would love to get my hands on a real one, am I just not looking in the right places on eBay?

Fruit Machines are kinda a British-European thing. I seriously doubt you will see too many here in the U.S. I also would believe importing one would be expensive if not illegal(?)...

Yeah, just a hop skip and a jump away from me, I grew up in waukesha:-)

I know they are pretty much a euro thing, but then pachis are pretty much a japanese thing too:-)

It's strange though, that I really havent seen any for sale on ebay, or other online places, I guess there just isnt enough of a market for em here:-(

It could also be that they are so darn big you need to build a crate or use something like a refrigerator box to ship them. Pachis, while heavy, are nice and compact, stack easily and still fit in a somewhat manageable box.

I'd love to have a fruit machine though.

Yep.. UK Fruit machines are about 6ft tall and weigh about 250lbs.. They are hard enough to move about in the UK, so I have no idea how you would ever get one into the US.

Its a shame, because I think that they are really impressive.. If you have the room, they look really cool.

I still can't compare them to Pachislos, as my carpet has JUST gone down and only 1/2 my order turned up.. In a few hours (once I have found a strong friend) I will get my furniture in the room and can then start thinking about getting my machines up and running.

THe 2 that arrived are Planet 999 and Beast Sapp, so I should alteast get a feel for what its all about.

Yeah it is too bad. I have seen some fruit machines on Brainiac and other British TV shows. They do look cool. I know there are several Fruit Machine "emulators" out there, but for me, nothing is better than the original hardware.
Thats why I have real arcade games here and not just a MAME cabinet. Again, nice to see a fellow Wisconsinite here on Pachitalk.

I'm soooooo jealous!

We also have Fruit Machines and they are so heavy and awkward to transport - my O.H. usually has to go and collect them.

We have 'Pie Factory', 'The Spotted Dick' and also a full size 'Tetris' Machine - although since discovering Pachis they haven't been played very much!!!

I'm also looking forward to my First Pachinko 'Star Wars' hopefully arriving next week! and then who knows how many more will be ordered!!!!!

Sorry that there was no further update on this.. The whole project 'stalled'.

My carpet was fitted.. My TV arrived as did the beer fridge.. But only 1/2 my Pachislo order turned up.. And of those machines, 1 was faulty.

So, I have taken the opportunity of painting the furniture to match the decor whilst I wait...

Still not sure when they are turning up, but as soon as they do, I will post some finished pictures.
