Default Mini Review- SlotUSA Pachinko Stand

    Hi Guys,

I just picked up the SlotUSA Pachinko stand for my new Sonic Pachinko.

The ordering/delivery was easy and I got it in about a week (they're on the West Coast and I'm in NYC).

    Here's what I thought---

Packing was good and it came through OK.

The quality of the product is just OK. The paint is matt black and feels cheap. If I had the time/space I would absolutely sand/repaint this thing.

Overall the build quality is poor.

They seem to use a nail gun and it was poorly jointed and I had to resecure it in spots.

The feet are not attached and I had to drill holes and find screws that would hold them on (and it appears looking at their photo (attached) that I attached them wrong! (I put them on the bottom, but it's super stable so I'll leave it as is).

The funnel at the top has no physical connection to the top of the frame so if you're not careful your balls are going to go everywhere but in the hopper.

The machine felt unstable in the frame so I had to run a screw through the frame into the sides of the Pachinko machine to secure it.

The worst part? the drawer at the bottom didn't fit properly. I had to spend about a 1/2 hour sanding it down so that it would freely move in the frame.

So in my final opinion....if you don't have the time/space or ability the frame is OK but be prepared to do some work on it.

If you have the skills build your own or try another vendor for one.

I simply can't recommend this one for those not willing to do a bit of work on it.

For me it serves it purpose, but I will try to find a better one at some point.

The SlotUSA stands are actually made by those folks out in Idaho- I believe they call themselves Gameroom Cabinet. The first one I ordered from SlotUSA came with a info sheet listing their email address as contact info.

    MameMaster thanks for the review!

Based on what you have said I imagine Joe at SlotUSA would send a couple of thousand rusty balls your way just for the trouble you went thru on the frame(or does he still do this still?).

Anyway at least you got timely delivery....

I've only ordered one of them direct from Gameroom and two via SlotUSA. I think the quality of the construction was actually better on the ones that I got from Slot, but like was mentioned before the finish / painting was crap. The price was also a little higher going through Slot, however the reason I did go that route is that I didn't feel like waiting 3 months + to get my cabinet as I had to the first time through Game Room. Their customer service and communication is in serious need of improvement. When I would get a response from them, I would get a story about how it was trucked all over the USA by Fed Ex and there was a backup, and it was drying, etc. Although Brenda was very friendly in her communications I felt like they were just stalling for more time. Ironically one of the excuses I was given for the backup was because of a large order by a company out in California, which I now realize to be SlotUSA.

Are they the same. Gameroom makes them for slotusa? The one I got from Gameroom does not have a drawer for the balls, just a door that allows the ball to pour out when opened.:questionm I was very happy with gameroom (except the shipping time).

Finally got internet back into my home. What a hassle and I won't waste the space here saying why.

Arby: Thanks for the hello. It will be a few days before I gear up to where I used to be around here....

I am concerned about the quality of of these stands especially if Gameroom has dropped the ball on them as I was thinking about ordering a few myself. Oh well - I guess thats progress

They are identical in design. The only differences are the paint finish and the ones from SlotUSA just have a hole at the bottom without the door. In the pictures below the one on the right holding Star Wars came from Gameroom Cabinets. The two on the left I got from SlotUsa. Since the Star Wars is cyclic I moved the door from that cabinet to the one on the left. Its a pain having to keep a tray there to catch the balls as they fall.
