Default Power rating for Pachinko Transformer

I was looking on e-bay at some small 24 V transformers for Pachinko manchines........

There were 2 options 150 VA and 500 VA.......could I get away with the 150 VA version ?

oh..... and BTW, I am assuming they are 24V AC ?

    Cheers

you are correct in the 24volt ac asumption but take a look at this email i recived when i inquired about a transformer for my machines and here is where to get them from big s WWW.CPC.CO.UK

    Dear Sir

Thank you for your email. VA = wattage. To find the current (amps) divide voltage with wattage. Technical say you require TF00306 @ £23.65 ex vat.

voltamp and watts are the same (volt X amps = watts)

I doubt youll need any thing close to 8 amp . This is a pachinko were talking about.
As long as they are 24 volt transformers it translates to about 6 amp out put from the 150 watt unit more than enough to power a pachinko and most pachislo with no problem . 150watt /24volt = 6.2 amp output

    Thanks Guys,

I knew the power calculation already, just wondering how many Amps a unit would draw.......also checked my other machines, and they have 150 W transformers, so thats what I went for .....

    Very reasonable price too !

    Cheers
