Default ROCKY Pachislo - Twin Towers

Has anyone played this machine, I know there are different editions of this machine. I am ordering the Twin Towers one because as a former New Yorker, it really hits home. Let me know if the machine is fun at all, if not, it will be art in my game den... Thanks

Sorry, haven't played a Rocky machine before. It's funny how the manufacturer picked a NY skyline for the belly glass though...Rocky was from Philly. I guess it was a 9/11 tribute.

Does it have real Rocky soundclips and music? That would be cool.

But a tribute to what... or whom???

I do believe that's a plane(?) heading for the towers? Or a shooting star???
I've not seen it close up, but that's enough to disgust me. VERY poor taste, IMHO.

    logicprobe,
It's the NYC skyline, no that is not a plane and shooting stars do happen in the NYC skyline......I do not think it's in bad taste and that's coming from someone who lost family during that crap.....The Twin Towers were a major landmark of NYC, that's the tribute !!!!

    OK... it's simply a coincidence.

"You are the great champion"... "You are King of Kings"... with a streak heading toward the towers. And Rocky was in Philly? Hmmm.
    It's been discussed here before.

I'm not sure this could be a 9/11 tribute, since it came out 07/2000!

No, it's because the manufacturer probably thought that details like that were not important for the average (Japanese) player. For most Japanese, the U.S. means one of the following cities: New York, Honolulu, Los Angeles, or San Francisco; they do not have any particular image of any other city let alone Philly. It may seem odd but it goes tit for tat that westerners usually associate Japan with Tokyo, Kyoto, Kobe, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, or Yokohama but, if I mentioned places like Himeji, Nikko, Furano, Yugawara (all famous in their own right) I suppose most westerners would not have a any kind of image of them at all.

Back to the machine, it plays pretty well though I can't remember it too well now that it's been around three years since I've last seen it.

    j/k

Then again, even though it's called Tokyo Disneyland, it's actually not in Tokyo.

Anyway, to be fair, here's what those cities are famous for:

Himeji: The location of Himeji Castle, one of the last (and most beautiful) of castles from Japan's feudal era.

Nikko: The location of the Toshogu Shrine and resting place of Tokugawa Shogun Ieyasu

Furano: Famous for lavendar in summer, cross-country skiing in winter

Yugawara: Famous for its hot springs resorts

All are great places to visit. Highly recommended.

The park is reached via the JR Keiyo Line or JR Musashino Line from Tokyo Station; disembark at Maihama Station (South Exit) where there is a Disneyland Welcome Centre; Opening time: Daily 8am to 10pm

    Correct. Location: Chiba.

But, then again, Disneyland in the US isn't exactly in Los Angeles either.

Considering what's considered 'Los Angeles', it's close enough.

When it was first built, there was nothing but orange groves as far as the eye could see. Now you look at it and wonder why they built it in the middle of the city. That's the reason they bought so much land near Orlando, buffer zone and room to expand. Got a trip planned for September, as I remember, there weren't any pachis at the Japanese pavillion at Epot.
