Non-LCD Pachinko Machines

Does anyone know if Pachinko vendors are making any more non-LCD models? Having only started the Pachinko journey since Feb 2006, I'm now much clearer about what I like - non-LCD machines like Apollo and Penguin.
It would be great to see some very new machines without LCDs that have greater interactivity that also require more skill. No LCD means a larger play area for new innovations?

Go Vintage -

Playfields with lots and lots of nails and no video,
Portable - Can be powered by a 9 volt battery
Cheap - Clean me up for $50 or less
Less Balls - Who needs to worry about the fever mode 15 balls per win
Lighter than newer machines - Easier to carry to you car
Exercise - Increases the dexterity of your fingers
No flashing LCD to distract you from the game play

Yes, non-LCD machines are made every year at a rate of 2-3 titles per year. They are mainly made to harken back to the 'glory years' of pachinko so think of them as what retro game collections are to videogamers.

I have to say I love the non-LCD titles ! to date I have been playing Thunderzone, Gachinko 7, Batman and Apollo much more than my LCD machines..... ahhh if only I could lay my hands on a Taiyo Penguin then i'd be happy......

Having monitored eBay UK for a few months, I've never seen a vintage Pachinko put up for sale. Yes, I love retro things, so a vintage Pachinko would be fantastic!

Other than Apollo and Gachinko, I find that they are not that common in North America because of the desire for LCD wow factor (easier to advertise to a naive audience), with less emphasis on playability. One of the Magic Carpet series was on eBay not long ago, as was ThunderZone.

Thanks to everyone for the info. I'm so pleased that manufacturers haven't abandoned the non-LCD machines. The trouble is, all the machines mentioned in this thread look fantastic, so choosing my next purchase is going to be very difficult!

Rupan - I'm keen to know what the current (within the last year) machines are, and how you rate them. I guess we'll have to wait until your next visit to Japan to get an answer to this question. By the way, do you know if these "retro" style machines are gaining in popularity in the parlours?
