Why are pachinko machines more expensive than pachislo machines?

I am somewhat new to the world of pachislo/pachinko. I have a Beast Sapp pachislo that I am very impressed with. Was looking to add a pachinko machine to my new collection, but was a bit shocked by some on the prices. For those of you that have pachinko machines, are they worth the money?

In my opinion they are worth the money. I now prefer pachinkos to pachislo - although I did start off on the slots. I now have 3 pachinkos (Star Wars, Rocky & Spiderman) and I love them all, also hoping to add to that in the coming months with a Top Gun pachinko.

i think one of the reasons the prices are higher is that they strip a lot of them for parts in Japan.
they use them to keep other machines running in palours. and use the LCD screen for other things, so their is less of a supply on the market.

Pachinomics, there are also a lot more pachislot dealers in the US than pachinko dealers so by that theory alone the pachinko prices will be higher. I like pachinko as much as my pachislots.

for some reason slots are cheaper in the uk even though there are more pachinko dealers than slots i think its down to the fact that they are striped more than sold and there seems to be alot more tchnology going in to the pachinkos with the interactive machines they are bringing out

That techonology has a big effect no doubt. But the low supply of pachinko compared to pachislots here definately pushses the prices up in the US. There are only 2 or 3 pachinko dealers on ebay here in the US. Where as slots there are 3 or 4 times that.

The market for pachinko is lower than pachislo. Everyone can look at a pachislo and know what it is. Not everyone understands pachinko. Pachislo is also easier. A few hundred tokens and your on your way. No balls rolling around the floor, no extra trays needed, no special stands. And pachislos look finished just sitting on a table.

It's also kind of like why farmers paint their barns red-
it's the cheapest paint.
and why is it the cheapest paint?
cause they sell so much of it!

The price did come down on pachinkos for the older models 2001 and older.
The Killer prices are on the New Machines just coming out for sale.

The prices are only going up because now we are getting the first runs. Right out of the box all thanks to Arby!
