Oldy is HUGE! its a 1966 olds 98, my baby! I get extra exercise as I have to park it way out away from everyone when we go out in her.
I put the purple martin house up is a birthday present for my mom, many years ago, PM's eat mosquitos, a very popular bird up north!
I was looking through old pics for the huge squirrels hanging from our feeders and found these so I decided to share.

Here's some pics of Mother showing off her stuff.

    Mother Nature, that is.

    Autumn in northern PA.
We're hitting peak color this week... and a beautiful show.

Here's the report of our area from fallinpa.com
NORTHERN REGION (Northern Wayne County and all of Susquehanna, Bradford, Tioga, Potter and McKean Counties.)
Foliage condition at this time is: about 50-60% of peak color
Expected date to reach peak color is: October 7 - 15, 2006
Details: The Northern hardwoods are at or quickly approaching their peak color. Areas such as Bloss Mountain, Armenia Mountain and Denton Hill are at their peak. The oaks have begun to turn but still have about a week to a week and a half until they approach their peak color. Routes 414 between Liberty and Morris, Rte 287 from Morris north, and Rte 15 between Liberty and Blossburg are providing spectacular scenery this week.
Sullivan & NE Lycoming County observers report fall foliage at about 50-60% peak on higher elevations of 40-50% at the lower elevations. Color in these counties should be at its best over the next two weekends.
Yesterday was a lot more cloudy than expected, but I caught some pics anyway. Most of these shots were at or near a county park, located at the top of a nearby mountain.
For your enjoyment, I've posted a few them here (LINK)
And included a few previews attached to the post.

(Can anyone guess what those tracks are from... on the road... in the first shot?)

TODAY AND TOMORROW will be sunny and clear!!!
To have that type of weather, and this type of show, is truly a gift from God.
I'm heading out to visit His gift, and capture more images.
Photos just can't match what we're seeing around here right now... it is AWESOME!!!
But I'll try my best for those of you who rarely get the chance to see this.

It's the last burst of nature's color before the leaves drop, and she sleeps until spring.
(And we humans get to freeze our butts off!!!)

Clouds rolled in today... then rolled back out, leaving a clear blue sky.
It was later in the afternoon by then, so some of the shots I got today have a "warm" cast to them.
But for this type of show, I think it enhanced the photos.

I've combined the photos from yesterday with the ones I took today, and created a new web page to view them all.

*** LINK to my "Autumn in NE Pennsylvania" page ***

I've also added another one of yesterday's pics in there... a rare shot of two doe swimming in the lake!

Another doe spied me today, and watched me from the middle of the road ahead. It's silhouette there against the sky made for yet another rare photo. (attached here, too)

Today's pics are from mostly from Tioga county in PA, on a different mountain from yesterday. But in one of the shots (#40), you can see the mountain where I shot the other pics.

Many of today's photos were in or near state forest, or state game lands. There's nothing like one-lane dirt roads in the middle of nowhere!
I had to use my GPS a few times, to get my bearings.
It's amazing that these roads were even in it's database.

BTW... These webpage pix are only 450 pixels, max.

But... if anyone would like full-size images of any of them (for personal use), just send me a PM with your email address.
Like I said, sights like this are a gift... so I will share these for desktop wallpaper, or even prints.
I'll be uploading them to Adobe/Kodak, and will be able to send invitations to anyone that wants them in full size. You would need an account with them, but it's free... and they have a promotion for 15 free 4x6 prints, too.

Attached are some examples of today's colors. Enjoy!

Well, the autumn show is starting to wind down now in the Northern Tier of PA.
After a couple of nights of morning frost, it was warm (upper 70's) today, and quite a few trees started to drop their leaves.

The forecast calls for rain and some gusty winds for the next few days... so it's only a matter of time now before ALL of those leaves will make their way into my backyard expecting ME to rake them, or clogging the filter in my garden pond!

It was beautiful while it lasted... just WAY too short.

I'll finish up with three more shots.

The first is a sunset on Sunfish Pond in Bradford county on Sunday evening.
No clouds in the sky, BUT high altitude jet traffic helped paint the scene.

Second... equal time for the cows, who complained today about the sheep getting too much time in the LAST set of pics.

And finally, the heavier clouds rolling in from the west... the leading edge of the weather that will end the show for another year.

    Hope you enjoyed them!
