    But luckily for us......

They have put Sea Defences along our bit (Huge Rocks!)

So my home should be okay ....... I think........I hope?

If I didn't know better, I'd swear you were at my Mom's log cabin in the beautiful mountains of PA. I just showed my son and he could not believe how similar it is. Just beautiful, thanks!

This is our decompression zone. the deck bar and small hottub under the umbrella. We have 16 acres in the coutryside and have total privacy, except the peeping Tom turkeys. Sunday morning we had breakfast on the bar, dress code is very loose. A trail through the woods leads to an all sports lake, (waterski, fish, swim. It makes for a longer commute in the mornings As I work Downtown Grand Rapids, but is worth it to us. "Us" are me, my wife , 2 cats and some fish. And the Pachi's of course.

I thought I would add my little window.

First set of pics is of my building and block looking to the East river at the corner.
The next set is what you see when you get to the corner.

In the 2nd pan pic you see the area where the Twin Towers stood!
The wind travels in the direction from the towers to my block so much of the debris and ash caame into my apt fo about 3 weeks.

In the 3rd pan pic is Brooklyn Bridge and in the distance The Empire State Building.

    Eddie, where's the grass?

You have no grass to mow.

    Thanks for those pics, Eddie!!!

So is this pretty close to the view I'll see next Tuesday? I'm embarking on a cruise from the new Brooklyn Cruise Terminal (aka Pier 12).
Looks like you're pretty close to that???

I've been poking around Google Earth to find my way there, and this sure looks like it's close to what I've been seeing "virtually".

    Now that's really gorgeous Eddie!

I've been just about everywhere but New York to see that concrete jungle. My father and his side of the family comes from there. All he ever told me about NYC was this, "It's the only place in the world you can lay on the sidewalk with a knife in your back, and people would come by and place bets on how long you'll live."

Yes, I will admit that my Father grew up there in the 20's to mid 40's when he came back from WWII and left, never to return. I just grew up with that image in my mind. I have a brother who's a detective on Long Island, a built in tour guide with a gun, but I've never been there.

It's beautiful there, go to more than one island for the best experience

I think they are more Japanese there now than Hawaiian
