i dont know about you guys, but the whole Playstation thing is sounding like one neverending story.. sure the Playstations that have come out are like SUPER WOW... but as always sony sees it right to introduce a BRICK version first and then a year or so later introduce the slimlined even more super wow version tht you wished you had waited for instead of buying the brick a few months earlier... so you end up spending your cash on the playstation that looks like a design nightmare.. only for them to come out with a nicer one and cheaper a few months later..

I still cant get over what stupid designer decided to put the on/off toggle on the PS2 on the back of the machine.... just my gripe.....


as for the ps3.. too much smoke and mirrors so far... as to when it will be released as to what the final price will be and what features it will have... im going to be steering away from the ps3 until they get their poop together and release the PS3 version 2...

The PS3 will come in both a 20g and 60g HD version. From what I've heard this will blow away any machine and it uses Blu-ray technology. The problem is the price how many parents are going to go and buy Little Billy a 600 PS3 when the Xbox 360 is only 300 or so. For me its brand loyalty SONY has a great product and i've never had any problems with it. Seems like their target market is changing to me video games are just for kids anymore.

At least until prices start going down and I start seeing which console(s) has the games I want to play, the current generation of consoles (except the DS) has turned me into a retro gamer. Thank god that I can play all the pachinko games via emu that I missed during the 16 and 32 bit gens.

Hello, I would suggest Never buying a System at Launch date. Not only are you stuck buying a crappy selection of New games at higher prices, but you are also being a beta tested for that company. Wait til there has been sufficient testing, and a Used Library of Good games is available. Game producers learn alot quick on a new system of how to produce better games. Sony has a bad track record of their earlier system drives going bad, and even their Slim model of overheating due to no fan. I would reccommend an XBOX 360 System for this Holiday and a Nintendo Wii down the road. Mike : )

As strange as it sounds, "I don't want to play games on my PC." I much prefer a console. Sitting in front of my Big Screen TV, playing one of the Halo's is the pentacle of excitement. When Halo 2 came out, I took the day off to play it. That was a first for me. (And I am about to do that again this Tuesday, 06-06-06, to watch Omen.) If you bought an XBox just to play Halo, it would be worth it.

Oh I agree for a lot of reasons. The feeding frenzy at launch is not a pretty sight. And the people trying to sell them on eBay for obnoxious prices are ludicrous. I don't know about a full year, but I will probably wait about 6 months like I did with the 360. My 360 has none of the reported flaws.

Oh and I like to add to my above statement. I want my console to only play games. I don't care if it plays movies or any of the other things that the industry want to do. It is sorta the same theory that stereos have. Do want a one piece with everything built into it. Or do you want individual components

I agree with the Stooge, my favorite third Stooge, but wait until the PS3 is in the stores for a while, and see how in does. I believe it will do well but I have seen many systems come and go ( Does anyone remember the Dreamcast !!! ) I have a PS1 and a PS2, but always wait and see. That system, for a start price, costs a lot of money !!!! I believe it will sell, but don't get burned.
