    Default Shhhhhhhhhhhhh?

    Hey everyone.
As you might has guessed from my profile, I am a newbie to all pachislos, and I just cannot wait till it arrives (Thanks 777Heaven)

However, from what I can tell, the Thunderbirds machine is rather loud, and the volume switch only has three choices, and that is still too loud for home use.

Rather than the use of adding htings in by rewiring, or adding variable resistors, does anyone know of a quick fix to make it quiet. I don't really have the time to buy a volume adjuster.

the cheapest alt. is to get some 47 ohm resistors from radio shack they cost 99 cents for a pack of 5 . while there get some male and female faston connectors . put one on each end of the resistor , then unplug one speaker wire and plug in the resistor to the wire then connect the other end to the speaker repeat this for each speaker . this causes no permanent damage to the wiring and cuts half the volume . you can then use the volume switch to adjust the volume as intended . whole cost less than five bucks and ten min . work.

of course you could always do the Neanderthal method of adding cotton balls in the speaker housing instead ........

LOUD!!! Doesn’t even come close to describing the level of sound that came out of the thunderbirds machine the first time I hit the spinner. It scared the ***p out of me… but it wasn’t till I hit my first fever round that I discovered how truly deafening it was. My wife forbid me from playing it in the house unless I did something about the sound.

I tried the switches and found that it was originally set to “medium”. Then I tried the cotton ball trick. It helped, but it also distorted the sound a lot. Then I spotted the 50 ohm resister mod. The results were better then I expected. Not only was it now at tolerable volumes, but the quality of the sound was even better, with no background hum. I highly recommend this mod

You are a member of a new nation, Pachination

The concept of PachiTalk was to bring together anyone and everyone who has a passion for these amazing Japanese creations. Once you stepped through the doors at PachiTalk.com, you become part of the Pachination.
You are no longer Japanese, American, English, Italian, German, etc. (If I missed you I am sorry). You are now considered a Pachinational, put that on an application! We are all one big entity amongst ourselves and our Pachis. Segregation is not our philosophy and the seperating of diffent cultures will not happen, we are one, under the Pachi Flag.

We are the United Nations of Pachiland....

    Don't forget DUCT TAPE.
Place it completely over the speaker grills.
Works wonders and is easily removed.
