Default The merits of corrugated cardboard..

I noticed my first cab design was a lttle noisy with the wooden ramps at the rear making a very loud clattering sound ( magnified by the cab ) ......

Experiemented with a few dampening materials , but some were either too bouncy ( things like the thicker bubble wrap just too bouncy firing the balls off the catch ramp... ) others were probalematic from a durability such as funky foam......

Ultimately ended up going for some thin, smooth high quality corrugated cardboard... almost no bounce, but surprisingly durable...and just enough damping effect..... dropped the play volume by about 50% !....I'll see how it holds up over extended play .......

Don't know how well it would work or how well it would hold up, but you might add that rubberized liner. Real cheap and works well in other ablications too.

Temporarily, go to youtube.com and search for BudgeRahe for videos. Until I get the links set up in the museum

Problem with rubber or foam products is that they break up too easily on contact with metal of the balls, and then you get rubber deposits on the balls / motor assembly...i.e. broken machine......

I simply used double sided tape and cardboard to line the wooden ramps, and it is surprisingly durable ( hence its use in packing )and very easy / economic to replace.....

Seems to work OK , and not a mark on it after 3 Fevers in a row on Star Wars ( Damn , I had forgotten how good SW was as I hadn't played it for 2 months or so........shot down Darth Vader, then blew up the death star, then Han Solo turns up in the MF.........SUPERB ! )
