    Big S,

open the glass and try dropping a ball in each pocket to see if your light that banks flipper openings lights,

You could have a stuck or faulty switch on that pocket.

Which four sites are those? And please don't try to . Why did you not post this on a thread that talks about his new practice. He started doing this fairly recently.

yeh I was thinking I might have to go this far.....

all the payout pockets lights etc are functioning normally....
go gate and sub roulette are all working, as I can see the bank and decision lights lighting up ........the only think that seems wrong is thet the flippers arent moving.... I've yet to play through a bonus to see if its just that , so my nect action is going to play through a full cycle and see what happens.....if they open in a bonus round then I'll really be stumped, but if they don't open at all then I'll know where my problem lies.....

BTW .... how did all that other stuff get into my post ? I have nothing to with AAA pachoslo or whatever ?

    Oh .....

For BF here is a link to a pic of the machine:

I've never stripped a machine entirely......

can the cell be pulled from the front of the machine ?

    Cheers

Ok...... first I strip it down to the back of the mech......evrything looks connected as it should be......

    http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/...3-picture3.jpg

During normal play the lights are all working and banked spins count down......

    http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/...3-picture2.jpg

then I just ran it through a bonus round......

Works just fine in the chance round .... banks spins and then stays open for the longer holds ......

Conclusion ..... the meachanism is working, its banking spins and opening flippers in the bonus rounds......

However, the only problem with the whole machine is that its not giving me the fast flips during normal play..... ????

Any ideas on what might be the problem ?

    Thanks

The Star Wars works the same way. Flippers are active during fever rounds but not during stardard play.

You know I was just thinking about firing up the SW machine....its been months since I last played it ( with all these other toys arriving ! ) ... I couldn't remember if it was the same or not......

All the other machines give a fast flip during normal play , but I couldn't remember if SW does or not.....

EDIT : yes Star wars fast flips in normal play ( its that super fast flicking of the flippers when you win a spin from the sub roulette ) also as do all my other machines....so there is definitely a problem with HNK................

it depends on the version of the machine some of the starwars dont open during play some do its like the diference in my red cell thunderbirds and my blue cell amongst other things the odds are also diferent

And in answer to your question (sorry about the time to reply) a cell is usually be pulled from the front

If your flippers are opening during the bonus round then they obviously work. Just because you can't make a bonus type event (quick opening of flippers during regular play) happen that does not mean it is broken.
Some of these machines will surprise you and show you something you have never seen a year from now.
Tearing down the machine for this is kinda dumb, I mean we don't know what exactly triggers the opening, we have an idea, but it don't always work, so all you are doing is learning how the machine is put together. Which is a good thing.
Your flippers work, bonus rounds have proved this. Quit over analyzing it and go play your game. We've had a similar discussion before about your star wars machine. GO PLAY AND HAVE FUN!!! All will come to you eventually.

If its meant to play this way then why start the sub roulette going in normal play ? its banking and spinning but if its not going to do anything then whats the point ?

BTW my questions about Star wars were as it was my first machine at that point I knew absolutely nothing ... having played a few I very much get the way things work.....however, of the 6 machines I have this is the only one that doesn't open its flippers in regular play....so you'll understand why i thought it may be a problem....

Would it make you feel better if I told you that Star Blazers didn't open it's flippers during regular play?

I have seven and those two are the only one's that act that way.

Is there a thing called Pachi-Neurosis ??? .... he he

I know I'm a pain in the rear ! I thought the only difference between machines was odds and certain recahes, but mechanically they played the same............so I guess I learned something new today ! ( not helped by the fact that I am a scientist by training so I always want to quantify things and get answers.... )

See HNK was the machine I looked forward to the most ( massive anime / fighting game fan here ) ... so when it doesn't do what the others do its natural to think something is wrong .......

Someone slap me if I use the word flippers in apost hereafter...........

also probably confirmed by the fact that I have the red cell version... I think the blue one is standard....

Our theory is that different versions behave differently......

However, having just compared two ZF Star Wars machines one does it and one doesn't do it......... surely identical machines would behave the same wouldn't they ?

Damn those fleepers , or flappers, whatever theyre called.... ?

We might have to give him the benefit of the doubt....he did say if he used that word in a post he could be slapped. Shall we put it to the vote? All those for giving him a slap?

My Friends machines flippers will just open at random, sometimes even when I have quit launching balls for some time. I think they just open at random to increase your chances.
