Default Cyclic Ball Systems - Pachinko

    Hello,
Any feedback on machines that have cyclic ball systems (ie: Star Wars)...Is it a good thing? Are there many problems with them?

    Thanks,
    Joe

I have both (more regular than cyclic) and it is a nice thing if you want to play and not handle the balls much. Every ball you play (missed shots and pocket/bonus shots) go straight back to the shooter tray. You only need about 20-50 balls to play, even thru bonuses. Works best on newer (anything in the Victory or Lumina frame ie-Lord of the Rings, Fever King/Queen, etc) that bank the wins in the internal computer. Some older machines will shut off if the machine isn't paying out.

Balls paying out is the raddest thing!!!

If you're playing without enough balls and you hit a fever or two, it can make you start thinking about cyclic real fast!

But if you have enough balls to play with so that you're not having to move balls around all the time, the payouts are a hoot!!!!

I can't imagine not having payouts, just the sound of the balls pouring out gives me a thrill, but that's just me.

But in the end, if you're having fun with your pachi, that's all that matters, not if it's parlor or cyclic!

My Thunderzone is cyclic, the other two are not.
It sure is nice not having to move balls, but those are fun too!

Im a traditionalist and i gotta admit like stuey there is nothing like the thrill of the balls paying out as with cylic you dont get a payout

my favotite trick is to let my hopper empty just befor a feaver and then with a low number of balls i can poor them through the hopper after the feever round and count howmany i one as i know i have 1000 balls and you can estimate howmuch you have one through howmany times yoiu poor the 1000 balls through

Then if you realy sad (like me) you can convert the won balls yo yen then yen to pounds and see how rich you would be had you been in japan
My rice krispies told me to do it

I've been tracking payout rates for several of my machines and know the number of balls played vs the number won over time. Kinda fun thing to do. (Use a scale to weigh and "count" the winnings/losings.)

I kinda like the Idea Of semi cyclic, where the spent balls end up in the payout tray... so the only thing you do away with is the reaching in the back to recycle the spent balls in the tray..

keeps everything else normal.. Once i actually get to play my Spiderman thats my plan, a modified Stuey cabinet and a semi cyclic hack...

All three of mine are cyclic. I enjoy the playing of the game and I'm not worried about winning balls (besides, where whould I trade them in?).
I don'd like to have to keep adding balls to the hopper, I just want to play, play, play!

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

If it wasn't for the fence, I'd have no where to sit on the cyclic issue...

The semi-cyclic seems the best of both worlds to me. Pure cyclic appeals to my logical side but I also enjoy interacting with the machine in moving balls around during a fever round. It does add an element to the game I enjoy. So semi-cyclic only removes having to reach around the back and that idea I like.

Or, get yourself one of those cabinets that hold additional balls in the top and then feeds the spent balls to a small front door at the bottom. That way, you can leave it parlor ready and not have to reach around back. That's my system and it works well for me.

    I
I have a spiderman on the way and would like to convert it to Semi-Cyclic. I have two kids and I am going to set it up in their room and dont want them having to reach around the back all the time for the spent balls. Any info on how to convert it would be greatly appreciated. I know very little about pachinko other than what I have read on this great sight but have ZERO experience when it comes to playing. I will get a stand when funds become available and I find one i want, but i want to start playing it out of the box. OHHH.. and fore-warning.....more questions to come when it gets here! Sorry if i stole this post!

Do a search for cyclic, there are many posts about it.
