Anyone built a MAME cabinet?

Nah.. My wiring is hacked up.. It does use a IPAC, but its been rewired (some of it by me).

I am not that worried about getting a life-like Defender any more.. My MAME as it stands gives me a near perfect version and even the button layout, whilst not ideal for some games, is actually VERY good for Defender

So after litterally 20 years of wanting my own Defender machine, I never considered that MAME was the way to go..

Ugg, yeah, the wiring bit is fun, used a ton of it wiring my mockup test control panel:-)

wiring those buttons has got to be the biggest pain..


but well worth it in the end..
