balls must be shot off the bumpers to get into the pockets - balls are two colors one color for each player - not sure on the specific rules - anyone else?

    1. Play with two players (singles) or four players (partners).

    2. Five red balls for one side - five white balls for the other side.

    3. Set balls on markers -place specially marked balls (one for each side) in front of holes.
    (See Bumper Pool Spot Placement)

    FIRST PLAY
Both players shoot marked balls simultaneously - balls must be banked off cushion to players right. If both players score, repeat simultaneous shot using next ball to left of hole.

    SUBSEQUENT PLAY
Player nearest his color hole shoots first. Player must shoot marked ball first, before shooting any unmarked balls. Player continues to shoot until he misses hole. Player may knock away opponent's ball with marked ball. Players may use their other balls to block or knock away opponent's balls after marked ball is made.

    WINNING
First player or team to sink all five balls. (See exception below*)

    PENALTIES
    IF: PENALTY:
Ball leaves table Place in center of rebounds.
Player sinks opponent's ball. No penalty. Ball counts for opponent.
Player sinks own ball in opponent's hole. Opponent drops two balls (by hand) in hole.
Player sinks ball other than marked ball first. Opponent drops two balls (by hand) in hole.
*Player sinks his last ball in opponent's hole. Opponent wins game.

I had a bumper pool table many years ago, it's alright if your space is limited.

Regular pool is much better and more games to play on it. Snooker, 8 Ball. Straight pool. trick shots etc.

My favorite is Straight pool, call each shot.

When I was young and single I shot pool a lot

I have/had a smaller size pool table that was quarter operated. We put it in my cousin's garage in Houston. I've left it there because I've never lived in a place big enough to have it set up. Besides, it's too heavy to move.

Thanks to all of you, I have now decided to make a MAJOR change to my house.

Last week, I just wanted a 'Fruit machine'.. This week I wanted a Pachislo.. Yesturday, I wanted 3 Pachislos and a Pachinko.. Today, I am planning to knock my 2 little rooms (Which arn't used) into 1 and make a games room (with pool table)

I can't wait.. Its what I have always wanted, but never had the balls to do it.. A few years back I got a divorce, but kept my house.. But I am a single man living in a huge 4 bedroom house with no use for several of the rooms.. So, why not make use of them and turn it into a real 'mans room'.

So.. I am going to start straight away.. I only need to rip out the wall.. Get it plastered.. Skirting board.. Paint.. Carpet and then I will have a room which is something like 14 x 10 foot to play with... Should be big enough for a normal fruit machine and a few machines (and a dart board (and a beer fridge ))

THanks everyone for nothing.. My life was simple until I discovered Pachislo

Ouch!!! Speak your mind why not

Nope.. Thats old news.. Its dead and dusted (unfortunatly for me, its the settlement which is dead and dusted, not her ) (Should I really say that publicly???)!! Its was my house in the first place and she walked out but still got 50,000 (Thats Pounds not dollars)... Not bad for someone who was only married for 18 months until running off with her colleague.. The bad news was that he was MY colleague too Thats what you get for meeting/marrying a colleague from work!!

But its all over now.. Was a a lengthy court battle, where she tried to "take me for everything I have got", but unfortunatly for her, she commited Purgery by lying in court about her new "friend" and my solicitor was better than hers, so I got away lightly.. £50,000 lightly

Still, I can have a games room now (and a Pachislo), so everything is rosy

The bad news now is that my room isn't big enough for a pool table

Its only 8'8" wide, which means that a 7x4 table would be unusable... I am wondering if a 6x3 would fit, but I am being told no.

To be honest, I still think it would be OK.. I am not looking to use this 'seriously' for competition.. It would just be a bit of a laugh.

If I did put the 6x3 table in, then it would leave me a 8'8" x 5' area for my Pachinko/Pachislo/Beer fridge.. It would certainly be a cool room.. Not idea.. But I like it!

Work starts immediatly.. Tonight, I am going to go home and cut some of the plasterboard out. .By the end of the evening, I hope to be in a position to walk between the 2 rooms... Nothing like being impetuous

I had a pool table built for my condo in Egypt. It is in the dining room and has a solid wood removable cover that doubles as the dining table. When we removed the cover for the first time, I was disappointed in how small the table was. It looked quite large when it was covered. It is a small table to be sure, but after a little getting used too, it is still a lot of fun. Do what works for you.

Its not the size of the table I am worried about.. If it fits, I would play on anything.. My worry is the size of the room.

As its less than 9ft wide, if the table is 3ft, then it leaves a gap of 3ft around the outside.. And this would be impossible for cushion shots.

Saying that.. With a short cue, I might get away with it..

I have emptied the 2 rooms and am about to start kicking.. But I have to say that I am in 2 minds.. Sure, it will be cool, but I will not longer have anywhere that I can just put my junk, shut the door and forget about it

I purchased a short cue for the tight areas around my pool table (it doubles as a great stick for my 5 yr old grandson) that is weighted to feel and shoot like a long cue - it works great.

Thats exactly what I am doing.. I am taking 2 8x9ft rooms and turning it into a 16x9 foot room.

The 'length' is fine, but the width is a bit close for a pool table.. But I still think it will be OK for a 6x3 table with short cues.

Other than that, its going to be air hockey

Why yes it would, everything in Egypt is masonry of one sort or another (except for the canvas tents, that is ). When it was being built, I requested that a few walls be removed to get the more "open" style that we have in America. There was a mound of sand about 7 feet high in the middle of the space. That mound of sand became my walls and my floors.

Well.. I was like a thing possessed and the wall came down, quicker than the end of the cold war!!

So, I now have a new room 16ft long and 8ft 8inches wide.. Big enough for a Pool Table, I am not sure.. But CERTAINLY big enough for a bunch of fruit machines.. Steve.. Here I come.. Just need to get a decent plasterer in and then a cost of paint, some flooring and I am away!! Things are really moving... However, you will see something in the way of my grand plan.. So, this has given me the impetus that I needed to sell it:
