how do they make the colored balls? Has anyone used these? Does the color eventually come off on your game? I'm worried about it staining the graphics on the backboard.

The only color I've seen 'officially' from Japan is silver and gold. I think those colored ones are made here. Sorry, no idea about it coming off.

Hey Folks,
Like Don says, they are probably formed in a "cold rolled" die process. However, once they are finished, I would suspect they are then hardened, because those balls take a lot of punishment in use without showing dents or deformation. I also wonder if they are chrome plated before seeing service?
