    Default Internal Key Question

Hi, I hope someone will be able to help me. I purchased a Mizuho "Taco Slot" today. It works great but the person I got it from did not have the internal key (programming key) is it just a generic key (like the ones used in opening of vending machines) or does it need a specific kind? Is there a way to "paperclip " the lock if it cant be replaced easily? I searched your forums (and google as well) and found there are "master keys" but are not easily gotten.

Thank you for taking the time out to answer my question.

    George

Like a Reset key?? If so you might be able to get one from a vendor or just replace it with a toggle switch

It's probably going to be generic to that particular manufacturer in the given year of manfacture of the machine. You might be able to get one from a vendor such as www.stealthhomeamusement.com but as Rich suggested, the easiest thing to do is just replace the keyswitch with a toggle or rocker switch.

Taco type lock is very hard to open. Took me hours the first time. (Its also a high security lock; a paperclip won't cut it!) You can use a hole saw on the lock cylinder, but it will chew up the bit very quickly!

But now, with my secret method (mwahahaha), I can open them in about 5 seconds.

    See this picture: www.pachislousa.com/auctionpics/tacolock.jpg
(The machine is actually an outlaw, but same lock style).

The screwdriver on the left provides some force to push the lock cover forward (towards you). It doesn't need a lot of force.

The screwdriver on the top is a short, heavy duty phillips. The whole screwdriver is maybe 3-5" long. It must be heavy duty; you will be applying a lot of pressure to it. You want to push metal plate 'B' to the right, by applying force against metal plate 'A'. (Grip the top screwdriver in your right fist, and apply lots of force moving it to the left.)

(One of the moderators might want to archive this picture somewhere (if found useful); my website expires end of month...)

Alright Rob! To the rescure again! How many other little tidbits might you wish to archive before your sight goes down? You can start a journal and I can set it so you can upload everything directly to our server if you like. Just let me know.

Thanks a bunch - this forum really opened my eyes to the fun that pachislo is, not only the unit but all the physical components inside.
