The vendor could send you the whole pay out houseing with the sensors in it and you can switch pay outs and see the machine work (I think)

You not nice . . . even if true

Sid have him leave all the wires connected to it, that way yu can count out a pulled wire break.

true, but Sid bought a fully working machine, not a broken one. A broken one would not be worth half of the cost he paid (I know, I buy them for part at times).

Besides any vendor worth his Salt would want to repair this machine, after all the work we went through to save him time and cost first.

Time will tell, and we watch fully

Hook a meter to the wires and pass something in front of it?

Error code 1 Spidey Testing continues...

the kind Dr. has provided me with his know how and we have tested the sensors with the following results

heres a transcript of our chat.. sorry for the long post...

    [22: 59:36] Sid K says: hello
[22: 59:59] Andi Crampton says: hi buddy
[23: 00:40] Sid K says: got this thing taken apart.. if you need a pachinko tec when you be rich and famous.. let me know.. i work cheap

[23: 02:02] Andi Crampton says: ok you need to set your meter for continuity and check you have continuity between 2 of the conections i dont know witch conections it will be so dont do it with the machine live thats the next part
[23: 02:31] Sid K says: well i have it all disconnected..
[23: 02:46] Andi Crampton says: there should ba a small resistance across them
[23: 03:59] Sid K says: yes i have it set on the resistance thing and the 1 & 2 pin give a reading.
[23: 04:20] Andi Crampton says: cool what is the reading
    [23: 05:51] Sid K says: 1640
[23: 07:06] Andi Crampton says: ok the sencor seems to be ok it hasent blown if it was blown you would have eaither no resistance or a realy high one
[23: 07:46] Andi Crampton says: remember the pins you got the reading over the pin with no reading is the negative
    [23: 08:29] Sid K says: so 1640 isnt a high reading?
[23: 08:47] Sid K says: im kind of a newbie with this sort of stuff...
[23: 08:54] Andi Crampton says: no you knock the end 0 off and it is 164 ohms
[23: 09:15] Sid K says: ahhhh ok i under stand..
[23: 09:40] Andi Crampton says: you can go into kilohms wich is thousends of ohms hence you probebly herd of the most common resistor witch is a 2k
    [23: 10:06] Sid K says: ahhh ok.. i got it Lfing02:
[23: 10:26] Andi Crampton says: lol they dont work in here
[23: 10:53] Sid K says: yeah its hard to remember some times
[23: 11:05] Andi Crampton says: ok next you need to plug the sencor in so we can get power to it and that is where you need a steady hand
[23: 11:32] Andi Crampton says: oh and power up the machine
[23: 11:48] Sid K says: ok once its plugged in what do i have to do. cuz i will have to go to the other room to try that..
[23: 14:00] Andi Crampton says: you need to put the black probe on the pin that didnt give you a reading i think you said it was #3 and the red probe on the other 2 pins 1 at a time looking for a voltage reading it should be a low DC voltage so set the meter for 20v dc
[23: 15:47] Sid K says: ok i go try that now.. if im not back in five minutes ive shocked myself to death... say bye to stuey for me and tell him all the sheep are his.. my points are all yours..
[23: 16:45] Andi Crampton says: lol cheers remember steady hand if you touch the live and the negative then you short the sencor
[23: 17:32] Sid K says: ok.. im not dead..
[23: 17:41] Andi Crampton says: what did you get
    [23: 17:51] Sid K says: ok reading from 1 pin .20
    [23: 18:01] Sid K says: reading from pin 2 .13
[23: 18:19] Sid K says: with a slight fluctuation updown on both pins of .01
[23: 18:41] Andi Crampton says: did you get a reading from pin 2 at all
    [23: 18:59] Sid K says: yeah pin 2 gave a .13
[23: 19:59] Andi Crampton says: cool what you need to do is cover the sencor with a cup or somthing so it sees dark and take a reading off pin 2 again it should be higher
[23: 21:11] Andi Crampton says: for future ref pin 1 is live pin 3 is negative and pin 2 is the signal
[23: 21:19] Sid K says: ok i go cover it all up and test again.. maybe i'll do it in the dark.. should be interestign 50/50 i short the pin..
[23: 21:34] Andi Crampton says: Doh
[23: 21:37] Sid K says: gotcha.. me go check the signal pin now...
    [23: 22:06] Sid K says: brb
[23: 22:08] Andi Crampton says: ok
[23: 26:43] Sid K says: ok the readings are the same..
[23: 27:15] Andi Crampton says: hmm pin 2 should be diferent
[23: 27:34] Sid K says: at one reading i got a .37 on pin 1 an a .27 on pin 2 but i was not able to repeat it...
[23: 27:34] Andi Crampton says: ok how brave are you feeling
[23: 27:54] Sid K says: ok whats you got in mind
[23: 27:57] Andi Crampton says: that was you not making a conection
[23: 28:19] Sid K says: ahhh ok.. its my electric personality L)
[23: 28:25] Andi Crampton says: well in the hopper of your pachislo you should have the same sencor.....
    [23: 28:40] Sid K says: its a switch..
[23: 28:46] Andi Crampton says: failing that there is also one on the back of the spin handel
[23: 29:18] Andi Crampton says: the token out counter is a switch
[23: 29:42] Sid K says: the one in the hopper is the micro switch that send s a signal that there are balls in hopper right?
[23: 30:08] Andi Crampton says: hmmm i put my hands up there all i know about pachislo is what i lernt on my Mrs yamsar machine
[23:30:28] Andi Crampton says: no no on your pachislo not you pachinko
[23: 30:55] Sid K says: ok you lost me lets start again
[23: 31:26] Andi Crampton says: on the token hopper on your pachislo i think you said it was dance nite
[23: 31:40] Andi Crampton says: there should be the same sencor
[23: 32:09] Sid K says: hmm so pop out the one and do a switch of sorts..
[23: 32:20] Sid K says: where should this sensor be?
[23: 32:23] Andi Crampton says: only if they do compair
[23: 33:01] Andi Crampton says: the one in my Mrs yamsar machine dose mach the one in my sammy i just looked
[23: 33:48] Andi Crampton says: the other one to try first is to check the bottom sencor on spidy the same way first and compair results
[23: 34:40] Sid K says: nope dance night completely different sensor..
[23: 35:11] Sid K says: ok the bottom sensor has 5 wires going to it,,
[23: 35:23] Andi Crampton says: hmm hang on brb
    [23: 35:31] Sid K says: np
[23: 37:52] Sid K says: ok looking at the other sensors connection.. i see that 2 of the 5 pins are dummy pins dont go anywhere.
[23: 43:20] Andi Crampton says: ahh thats what i was just looking at on the pics arby sent you
[23: 43:46] Andi Crampton says: ok i take it you have pin 1 2 and 3
[23: 44:11] Andi Crampton says: 4 and 5 are dummy
    [23: 44:53] Sid K says: yup...
[23: 45:41] Andi Crampton says: ok then test away look for the negative first the way i showed you befor you power the machine up and test it
[23: 46:24] Sid K says: ok this sensor has the pins really close together...
[23: 46:39] Sid K says: im still trying to give it a dry run...
[23: 46:47] Sid K says: ok turned off
[23: 48:16] Andi Crampton says: up to you buddy on weather you think you can do it im unfortunatly not there to help as i have a neadle soldered to my probes to make them thiner and also to alow me to poke it through cable covers to save me disconecting a wire if it is hard to get at
    [23: 49:42] Sid K says: 1 &2 pin together 1300 resistance
[23: 49:43] Andi Crampton says: real neadle probes cost a mint home made ones i just have to be carefule not to get caught in the Mrs sewing box

    [23: 50:10] Sid K says: 1 &3 together 1300
[23: 50:18] Andi Crampton says: cool do you think you can do it powered up without the cup ?
[23: 50:41] Andi Crampton says: negative in the middle is anoying grrr
    [23: 52:33] Sid K says: 2 & 3 nothing..
[23: 53:37] Sid K says: so when powered up i get a reading for negative #2 and pin1 and negative #2 and pin 3 correct?
[23: 54:58] Andi Crampton says: black probe on number 2 then red on 1 first and then on 3
[23: 55:18] Sid K says: ok back in a couple.. hope i dont fry it
[23: 55:24] Andi Crampton says: test with meter set on 20v dc
[00: 00:17] Andi Crampton says: i have a feeling your top sencor is shot as the reading should change when covered
[00: 01:16] Sid K says: ok bottom sensor.. does not give any reading.
[00: 01:45] Sid K says: the wire going from the board to the sensor reads 1 &2 as .13
[00: 01:55] Andi Crampton says: ahh powered up you got noreading on any of the cables
    [00: 02:10] Sid K says: 2 &3 give the same thing .13
[00: 02:24] Sid K says: these readings are from the board and from the wire.
[00: 02:43] Sid K says: once i check on the sensor.. no reading. 0.00
[00: 02:45] Andi Crampton says: ok hang 10
[00: 02:56] Andi Crampton says: checking data banks
    [00: 03:14] Sid K says: np
[00: 04:37] Andi Crampton says: what do you get if you cover the sencor as this is starting to make sens i promis
[00: 05:00] Sid K says: one sec whil i cover here up and try to read...
[00: 05:08] Andi Crampton says: thanks
    [00: 08:58] Sid K says: nothing.. same readings.. 0.0
[00: 13:52] Andi Crampton says: brb
    [00: 14:08] Sid K says: no prob..
[00: 23:43] Andi Crampton says: ok from what i can see and my guru has confirmed my theory...
[00: 24:23] Sid K says: what be the theory
[00: 24:30] Andi Crampton says: top sencor is looking good as .13 is feedback from the bord and 2 is the voltage that runs it
[00: 24:55] Andi Crampton says: now it looks like your bottom sencor isnt getting any voltage to run it
[00: 25:27] Andi Crampton says: hence the reading is low on both pins ie feedbac voltage
[00: 25:47] Sid K says: so the bottom sensor is gibbled?
[00: 26:25] Andi Crampton says: no im more intrested that it aint getting enough voltage to run
[00: 27:06] Andi Crampton says: can you check continuity on the cable between the sencor and the bord
[00: 27:37] Sid K says: yeah just a seck while i get everything
[00: 28:27] Sid K says: top sensor or bottom?
[00: 28:40] Andi Crampton says: bottom
[00: 29:29] Sid K says: ok i disconnect the wires now to check continuity..
[00: 32:12] Andi Crampton says: poor spidy is gonna feel like my thunderbirds
[00: 32:52] Andi Crampton says: no no iv come to live with Dr Frankenstine
[00: 33:00] Sid K says: ok wire has continuity...
[00: 33:13] Andi Crampton says: cool so its not the cable
[00: 33:23] Sid K says: when i tested it live the wire had juice going through it.. .13
[00: 34:42] Andi Crampton says: yeh if the wire was broken slightly then it will reduce the amount of juce going thrugh a continuity test usualy throws up a slight break
[00: 36:25] Sid K says: so am i guessing that the bottom sensor is malfuntioned.
[00: 36:28] Andi Crampton says: it is definatly top or botom sencor problem but i think it is more a voltage to it rather than the sencor itself
[00: 37:00] Andi Crampton says: and money being on the bottom sencor
[00: 37:11] Andi Crampton says: rather than top
[00: 37:22] Sid K says: hmmmm....voltage so its not being powered properly..
[00: 38:35] Andi Crampton says: its my theory and i pissed about with thease sencors befor on pinball they use the same ones on the ramps to see when a ball enters the ramp for the scoring ect
[00: 39:46] Andi Crampton says: on the top sencor it is getting good juice in and you may not have had it dark enough when covered to cause a diference
[00: 40:29] Sid K says: i rapped it in a tshirt and held it covered with my hand..
[00: 40:35] Andi Crampton says: but bottom isnt getting getting good juice to start with
[00: 47:25] Sid K says: that way if we have done anything wrong we can get some feedback..

Wonder why this sensor just broke on the trip to you? Seems a bit strange. These machines are very tough.
