Default For those that cannot solder in confined spaces

I use this method for my machines when installing volume controls (Check out my post NOT ENOUGH PRAISE). The controls are meant to be soldered to pc boards so their leads are very small>I did solder wire extensions to them to work easier. I used black heat shrink tubbing to seal the soldered joints. To make the connections to the speakers I simply twist the wire ends of the extensions to the cut positive wire ends of the speaker inline and seal the twists with heat shrink tubbing. I used clear in the pics to show the connection better. This way works very well for those that dont know how or are afraid to solder in the tight places usually neccessary for volume control location. The seal is very tight and strong and I have not encountered any problems. For those that can solder in those places Its still good to seal the work in heat shrink tubbing.

The connections ie Volume Controls and wires are then cleaned up and mounted with wire clamps or Zip ties. Not shown in pics done after.

I should have just added this for those wanting to get the controls that I used.

It would have been easier than what I put in parenthesis in the original post.
One last note this technique doesnt eliminate soldering (with these controls) but it does eliminate soldering in the confined spaces of a machine.

Looks good! I use the volume control for Headsets from Radio Shack. I also use the male female ends instead of splicing it together just in case I want to plug it back in to original loudness.

So far I have done four of my 6 machines and it works great.

Here is a better shot with the hook up.
